I sympathize with panel three the most. In winter the water here gets ridiculously cold, so needless to say the toilet seat becomes an icy ring of torture. _________________

Reminds me of something I read recently. Some woman on an environmentalist type blog was complaining that American homes had heat in them, and that was just terrible and peoples homes should just be left at the natural outdoor temperature. And that indoor heat was the cause of colds and flu in the U.S. I can only assume she lived somewhere in the south where the temp. never gets below freezing. Up here where -20/-30 isn't uncommon, I like the water in my toilet to be liquid, so I think I'll keep my furnace. |

Probably hasn't kicked in yet? I live in a place so cold I put things in the refrigerator just to keep them from freezing, but I still turn the heat off at night because oil is crazy pricey enough as it is. And I don't know about others, but I've only got a stove/heater in one room (the living room) and it tends to work better if the doors to that room remain closed, so even if he set the timer and had it turn on before he woke up, his bedroom and the other non-stove rooms, could still be an ice box.
That said, he really should invest in a heated toilet seat. It is a most marvelous thing. |

Tat lives in San Diego, so "cold" there is pretty much just below room temperature
