Hey, she said "No, thanks", didn't she? She was content to let it go at that, but then Milton didn't drop it.

Incidentally, let's remember, Milton doesn't so much work for The Patriarchy as work for The Freakin' Devil. Accepting an offer from him could be construed as a subsidiary pact with The Devil OSLT.

Considering that Glossie is for all intent and purpose indistinguishable from a child, that's even creepier than working for The Devil...

As for sentient robots, we as ever have these two from way back when to consider:

http://www.sinfest.net/archive_page.php?comicID=2252
http://www.sinfest.net/archive_page.php?comicID=2504

Sentient or not? Who knows? Just because that first one "ran down" like that, it doesn't mean she isn't sentient, just that she needs occasional re-charging, and who doesn't?

Plus there's that whole what-was-the-deal-with-those-non-Devil-Women-The-Devil-used-to-keep-around-arm-candy question, but I realize that will never be addressed. Wink

Milton is an employee of the devil not a girl scout. He seems the 'lolicon' type to me. Especially if he builds sex bots. Those kinds of guys tend to have warped fantasies.

Yesterday's comic got me to feel nice feelings for Glossy for the first time ever. Today's comic got rid of that.

Don't hate the player, Glossy. Hate the game.

That's stupid advice. The "game" is propagated by the players, and if they stopped playing or chose to act in other ways they would either collectively end the game or fundamentally change it. Thus, the fault rests with the players at all times.

This works for all inanimate games. Board games and the like are different because they persist even if no one is playing them. Oddly, people usually find blaming Monopoly ridiculous, but apparently find blaming a game that requires their effort to even exist totally rational.

Sometimes it seems like people search for like....any possible reason to hate on Glossy.

Milton actively supports the patriarchy(or "the game" as redshirt puts it), an enemy of the Sisterhood. Glossy, a member of the Sisterhood, rejected his offer to work on her equipment. What is so strange about that?

Except that she does hate the game rather than the player, she's simply annoyed with the player because of it.

Then there's what Dogen said, which is A+

There is still, also, the fact that other than the fact that he works for a company that she has literally every reason to distrust, and the fact that he was insisting upon helping her when she clearly states that she does not desire the help. That itself is a problem that gives her the right to be annoyed.

With her high handed "you're not good enough" attitude, I actually find Glossie less human than Milton.

Would she tell Milton to get to the back of the bus? Or would she just try to kick him off?

It's more like would you boycott BMW during WWII. Because the fembots aren't things that were made decades ago, they're being made now. All depends on one's view of Werner von Braun I suppose.

that, i agree with. she already said 'no thanks' - now she's annoyed because he keeps bugging her. if he hadn't pressed it, she would have left it at no; she make it clear why she found his help objectionable when he failed to respect her first answer.

and i'd be less worried about him putting some tracker on it than on him pimping it out into some sort of barbie-mobile. because i get the sense that his notion of What Women Like is maybe a bit less than spot-on.

For all she knows, he could put a bomb on it that activates by randomly pushing unlabeled buttons that could go off at any second and kill anyone who happened to be nearby with no obvious way to shut it down.

Oh wait, that comes standard package.

Hell, I wouldn't want my adversaries to know all the secret weapons or potential thermal exhaust ports on my ride either.

Your analogy is bad and you should feel bad.

OK, try this analogy:
1. You are a vegetarian.
2. You reject an offer of help - from someone who makes imitation meat products.

I would hope someone pushing the whole "porn is degrading" line, would be more careful not to mix who people are, with what they do for a living.

If Criminy had acted like that, Fuschia would still be with Blue.

Glossy, you never appealed to me. You seem like the female version of the D-Man. A better version in that you are trying to improve life, though I feel your being a bit authoritarian in the way you are handling in. You also seem to like to push away anyone that disagrees or do things that disagree with you, then there is nothing to challenge your way of thinking, and you come up with token solutions to the problems that do come up.

I'm not saying she has to become friends with the Devil, that's just dumb, but becoming friends with Milton can at least show you a differing viewpoint, that can only strengthen your personality and broaden your viewpoints.

Also... building a sex doll isn't really evil, its a product to designed from the base up to be a sexual device. I'm beginning to wonder if she would take offense to vibrators, fleshlights, and 'magic wands'.

Edit: Nah... that's kinda mean, if the sexbots have a personality and capable of rational thought and ideas. Now if the sex bot only had that directive, pleasuring someone, that may be the same thing...

I don't hate Glossy. I respect what she stands for. What I don't like is that she is a Invincible Heroine who has had no character growth and is always shown winning and never losing a fight. But I understand that many people like her and I am most likely in the minority, so I don't always make a big fuss about it on the boards and ruin everyone's good time.

And if I remember correctly, she gave some rather nice advise to a certain pinkish anti-villain with horns a year and half ago who was still on the side of the patriarchy. I can only imagine what would have happened had Glossy considered her the enemy and peddled right by.

Ah, but don't forget - Fuschia is a girl devil. As such, nothing is really her fault. She's a victim of the Patriarchy.
