No, the 'Manic Pixie Dream Girl' is a wish-fulfillment trope. _________________ butts |

Techinically, it doesn't even need to be a girl

Psh. Sensitive Dudebros ride bitch to Manic Pixie Dream Girls not the other way around. Although I've seen that trope played gender reversed and same-sex (both platonic and romantic) often enough that I don't really think of it as male-romance oriented.
IRL, in my experience, that kind of crazy is just way too stressful to sustain for any long period of time. Not that they aren't fun people to be around when they blow into town and rearrange your life for a couple weeks. |

This one lost me at "Sensitive Dudebro".... I think my copy of the Derogatory Terms Encyclopedia is out of date or something.
Although, Manic Pixie Dream Girl I at least know the reference to since TVTropes has consumed many hours of my life. (damn it for linking to other terms that look enticing, which then link to others, and others, and...)
Is it implying that the male counterpart in the Manic Pixie Dream Girl trope is somehow a dudebro? I re-read the article, and I don't get that as being a requirement for the role. _________________ My deviantArt - Blog-ity blog

This strip is amazing.
I read the dudebro's lines in the voice of the Old Spice commercial guy for some reason.
You may... but don't get it on me.
And then glorious fanfare music. |

When it comes to wish fulfillment female characters, just watch modern anime. Most of them are harem anime now anyway.
One of them is always the pixie one. |

This reminds me of this from the other day, from the creator of Nimona.

Why?! |
What? You don't like hours upon hours of enjoyment?
Why would you need to be linked? Why aren't you already there? Cracked, and especially TvTropes, are second homes of the internet. You will not escape. |
