As cute as the strip is, I wonder: Is Big D watching? How will he react?

If Squig saw them, he'd pull up a chair and voice his approval.

I would talk about how this cute strip made me feel warm inside, but I am far too manly for such girly sentiment.

thank you Mr. Ishida for finally showing a side of monique besides the cool, aloof super-feminist, please keep it up. i don't mind her style change so long as you keep her human.
reminds me of this one, I think its the closest, before todays, that she's come to emotion/human weakness since she started seeing code.

it would be nice though, from time to time, if she could show other desires besides the ones on the feminist agenda. maybe she could do some world peace stuff like she used to? i'd like to see her "hanging out" side too but it doesn't look like she can accept slick for who he is right now. hanging out with green as an alternative might work, perhaps this comic is a hint to that. it might be funny to see tat come up with girl-talk topics

yeah, i thought of that one too but the "they suspended my ______ card" never really feel like they're part of the flow of the comic, sort of like the full moon transformation ones.

yeah except those strips have an outside force (aka a narrator) that heavily imply that they're not actually happening.

the full moon and revoked card strips, however, do not. you can't prove that they're not canon. they don't stray too far from actual events going on in canon, they're strips that provide a reoccurring joke that also happens to give more insight to the character it involves. it lampshades traits of the character involved. just because you feel that they're not canon does not automatically mean that they're not. they may be, they may not be. but you cannot prove it either way. even if you feel that it isn't canon, it's still exactly what you want and it's still probably happening in canon. and it's main purpose is still insightful to nique as a person.

similarly, the same can be said for calligraphy strips. earlier strips had a narrator that made it obvious that they're outside of canon but as time went on they started blending in with canon.

so lets just say i'd like to see her human side come out of the background and become more frequently seen. also a litte variety would be nice, not saying she has to go back to her old self. this would probably be easier if she had someone to hang out with. as of right now she doesn't have many conversations, most of the conversations she does have are patriarchy related, and when they’re not they tend to feel, i don't know... un-conversation like. the feeling's hard to describe
example:

i know what you're saying. but do you understand what i'm saying?

you're saying you want to see more of nique outside of the feminism - and making it sound like strips those two i linked do not exist. and i'm saying that those two strips are exactly what you're asking for.
