quote of the day:
Asked about Cheney's remarks, Putin said, ''I think the statements of your vice president of this sort are the same as an unsuccessful hunting shot.'' |

On another note, does anybody know if Diebolds are in use again this year? |
alas, it seems it will be so for san diego in november. although this time, they are supposed to include a paper trail. we had two of the new touch-screen machines at the polling place i worked at - took _forever_ to get them up and running. i really don't understand why the drive to use them for everyone... unless it's because the county already paid for one set of machines, and diebold refused to reimburse us when they were returned.
oddly enough, diebold also made the scanners we used for the primary in june, although at least with a scanner you have paper ballots available for a recount. to say nothing of the fact that people can still vote, even if the machine is down. _________________ aka: neverscared! |

The Diebold scanners use the same software as the touchscreen machines, which has already been successfully hacked (in tests). They use them in King County, WA, where I vote, as well... I'm thinking I'll do mail-in next year (didn't register in time for it this election). _________________ "Worse comes to worst, my people come first, but my tribe lives on every country on earth. quote of the day:
Libby told a grand jury that Cheney was so upset about Wilson's allegations that they discussed them daily after the article appeared. ''He was very keen to get the truth out,'' Libby testified, quoting Cheney as saying, ''Let's get everything out.'' |

What?
Oh, well, first you need wheat bread, and [real] mayonnaise, not that Miracle Crap.
Spread it lightly across the bread, add crisp lettuce and fresh tomato. Meat can vary, but I like ham... |
