The Devil's starting to bring his A-game.
I am very excited and hope to see more of this.
Did not even catch the devil slick. This does bode well for Slick and Xanthe's developing... association... with each other. |

That's more serious than a catfish viewing, through the glassy, rippling kaleidoscope of the water's surface, a bag of cornbread and contemplating the intricacies of deep-frying as it struggles with the every fiber of its being down to the core of its soul not to chomp down upon the unfortunate cricket impaled graphically, gorily, on that horrifying hook, the cruelly barbed instrument of its (the catfish's) own demise, but eventually is crushed into submission, succumbing to an urge to bite, driven by an ancient, instinctual, and incontestable instinct (ironically, of survival) that the poor, despondent fish knows will lead to a place from which there can be no return.
More serious than that. And that's pretty serious. _________________ Good day, good people!

But this is no slick, is sleaze/kcils/whatsacallit!
Truly, I never understood that dissociation. _________________ Be mellow

I kinda see it as a Dr Jekyle Mr Hyde thing going with the Slick/Sleaze relationship with some mirrorverse parallel thrown in the mix... instead of a potion its a mirror which would mean... while Sleaze is in control Slick would be stuck in mirrorverse.
Its a theory, but if you notice the reflection in Xanthe's glasses it makes a certain amount of sense. He's facing away, with no horns. |

i kinda figured that slick facing away in the reflection meant that he was looking at her but then turned away as if nothing happened.
though as for why its REAL slick instead of sleaze in the reflection, i was kind of assuming that it meant that maybe when sleaze is in control only we as the audience could see.
i mean since no one really acknowledges that sometimes slick is a devil person at total random unless they're looking at his devilized reflection it just sort of made sense to me... but your theory is as good as mine. it sounds pretty valid as well. _________________ Character Chart | Terminology Dictionary | Flashback Strips

Yea when I first noticed that he had his head turned I thought the same thing, that he was walking away, but then noticed there wasn't any horns on his head and was like "Wah?". I actually didn't have a definite idea about it till then. Although I can't remember when someone treated sleaze like slick or vice versa I can't say it won't happen. Xanthe does have them glasses, she may see Sleaze for who he Truely is, hence disappointment. |

Holy...damn!
This strip. Wow. Epic and powerful...and yet the implications as people have said about Slick. Can't wait to see the future things.
Also, the WEE bit of humor with Big D miming the old "stroking my evil kitty as I commit evil" trope is a nice touch! _________________

...That said!
She has them Patriarchy Blockers. So far these have pretty much deciphered every form of lie out there. Wouldn't she be able to see through Sleaze? This leads to a very interesting scenario: What if Xanthe and only Xanthe knows about the Bzomf? Would she try to help? To let Slick know about it?
...Now I'm really digging this hypothetical scenario. _________________ Welcome to Sinfest, the only place with a 46 pages long thread about sentient toasters

dammit all to hell. Panel six is perfect. If I could figure out how to get the file size down I'd use it as my avatar. Too bad I can't seem to get it below 8kb. seriously... 8kb? and how are most of you just completely ignoring the avatar parameters. How do I become like one of you? |

Try changing the format to '.png'. Compared to jpeg the size is far lower without sacrificing quality. My own avatar is jpeg, though, so no idea of what res you are giving yours.
And I have no idea of how some people do their oversized images.
EDIT: Seems like my own avatar is 195 x 150... Welp, no idea. _________________ Welcome to Sinfest, the only place with a 46 pages long thread about sentient toasters

Post your avatar online somewhere and link to it, and it can be as big as you want! _________________ Good day, good people! |
