I'm actually pretty happy to see Tat interacting with Fanboy-Tat. I wonder if he'll be able to teach him anything about how not to be offensive.

Okay this made me crack up laughing. Though honestly I get that isn't what Tat/Cartoonist/Master meant, what does "Spotting blacks' mean?

It's basically choosing which areas of a comic should be solid black:

Her hair is drawn black. More importantly, her clothes [and cycle] are mainly done in 2 shades of grey.
So if he was "drawing" her, from a spotting black perspective, the trick is to not overdo it. Acknowledge her skin tone, without reducing her to monochrome.

Around now would be a good time to Tat to show how he "advanced" from his original B&W style, to include shades of grey.

Innocent Racism from children. Is there anything more cute and offensive?

I wonder if Theo (aka Fanboy), basically a smaller and more clueless version of Tat, is also Asian-American.

I think Pooch might be looking at Curly, not the readers. No way to be sure.

Does simply using the word "blacks" to refer to African-Americans really qualify as racism?

I wouldn't call it racism. Although African American is more in vogue, black is still a legitimate term. Now if he'd used "spotting colored", that would be a whole other and far more smelly kettle of fish.

On a different subject, even though he doesnt do anything Pooch is adorable in this.

I'm hearing more and more that black is the preferred term
