I love the trademark symbols next to the Femininity, Sassy, and Quirky that showcase the insincerity of it.

Also, is any of that modifiable? If not, maybe we could switch to open source? Something more authentic.

You know, I really like the design the android has. It's simple, yet makes her stand out.
Oh, and hi, the name's Jesse, i'm new.

I know this is not the intent, but sometimes I get uncomfortable with making fun of femininity as being silly, ditzy, done for men, etc. In the comic, I'm assuming Tat is talking about the very narrow, socially-obligated-femininity. But it's still slightly on the border of that "she's doing it for men, she's doing it because of social pressures," which can remove a woman's agency.

I think women should be able to express or not express any degree of femininity, and I think femininity itself can be defined broadly. I think in general though, culture looks down upon femininity as being weak, unintelligent, ditzy etc. Women (and men) should be able to act however they damn well please, whether that's being what's considered masculine or feminine.

That's what the little (TM) symbol was for, an indication that it's a product for sale rather than anything genuine.

Yeah, that's true, and I understand the intent. I just sometimes see people use the "fake" label to judge women who act feminine, and it bothers me.

Anyhoo welcome to the forum!

I swear, if there were a fifth panel to this strip, I'd wish it were her tripping and faceplanting (a la Abby with the high heels).

Like, "RUN FILE CORRUPTED - PLEASE REPAIR."

ehhhhh nah. butch girls get way more shit than twee girls, though.

check the tumblog liberal-lesbophobia for a shitton of examples. it really isn't harping on girls for being feminine like honestly, and being feminine isn't revolutionary when everyone expects it lol

tbh, i have read the phrase butch privilege. y'all are trippin.

eeeeeh holy shit, that blog is being hateful, and not just towards straight people. I'm in the middle of moving and probably can't follow up like i would like to but I've never felt so immediately shut out of a lgbtqa space.

it's called venting lmao

also @sam how you mean it's shutting you out

talking about specifically lesbian business isn't shutting out others it's just... specifically lesbian business. and saying "if you date guys you're not a lesbian" isn't shutting people out it's just... true

the blog runner isn't a terf either. i remember they specifically said they weren't, and didn't support them and then got shit from terfs for it

It's called categorism and it's just as wrong as saying "I hate blacks" or "I hate gay people".

(oh no my white cismale heterosexual privilege is showing again)
