I've been thinking about raising my three year old nephew into a career in evil villainy, so maybe he can enact this plan on the world from an island volcano-lair shaped like a human skull. He might not go for it though, he's pretty set on his robot army plan, but I have at least two decades to work on him.

if he's into robot armies, he sounds like a natural for evil villainy. keep the plan around; once his robot armies have subjugated the world, he will need things to do with the populace. or hey - a major birth control program might result in a population drop that will pave the way for a robot army to take us over!

teach the kid to keep his options open. it's blind fixity of purpose that causes the downfall of so many evil villains; it makes them predictable. a truly successful evil villain has the flexibility to alter his plans as the need arises.

I don't read fanfiction for shows I haven't watched. I've seen the first 6 episodes of MLP. Let me check where that is on the priority list (this is a real list I'm actually following btw)...

1. Catch up on Adventure Time
2. First 2 Seasons of Regular Show
3. First 2 Seasons of Adventures of Gumball
4. All of Littlest Pet Shop
5. Re-watch My Life As A Teenage Robot (been over 2 years since last time)
6. First 2 Seasons of MLP: FiP
7. Watch all of Gravity Falls
8. All of Wander Over Yonder
9. Top 25 Batman Animated Series Episodes
10. Final 2 Seasons of Venture Bros
11. Finish up any worthwhile shows already begun

So at a minimum of 90 minutes of cartoons a day, 5 days a week (according to my schedule) that would put MLP at least a few months down the line. I'm really behind in watching modern animation, I feel so neglectful. Crying or Very sad

You missed the point. I haven't read that fic either (past the first couple of chapters, anyway), and I only linked to it for a chance to describe the main character. Even most fans of Fallout Equestria can't be bothered to read that fic.

But, more importantly, it's not really an MLP fanfic. It's a recursive fanfic of Fallout Equestria that drops all pretense of being related to the actual cartoon.

If I were to break down the material that it draws from, it's approximately

1% My Little Pony
30% generic painfully innocent child (sort of like Catbug from Bravest Warriors, but without the rest of the cast to balance it out)
44% lore original to Fallout Equestria
25% Fallout

Since it's only about ~1% MLP, familiarity with the cartoon gives you next to no bonus on reading it.

i don't even know what to think about that, like, this is really a thing, like that this post accurately describes something that exists

Wait, wait, does this mean you missed Chowder?

Fuck Chowder.
Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated! I haven't liked a Scooby anything other than "the old ones are fun to have on the TV sometimes," but Mystery Inc. really takes it to a new level! Continuity! Character development! Genuinely dark subject matter! Making fun of Hanna-Barbera shows, including themselves, at every turn! Jack Black and Patrick Warburton!

it has ~2000 likes, too, so it's almost as popular as the most fantabulous short stories "Pinkie Watches Paint Dry" or "Princess Celestia Hates Tea"

actually, that's more likes than most things you'll find in the "top rated of all time" section

I'm not particularly savvy as to how it got so many likes. I guess there's an audience for "childlike abomination cluelessly destroys everything she touches", but I don't know why.
It probably has something to do with the fact that it was first uploaded to the site back in 2011, back when the fandom still didn't know what it wanted and things like "cupcakes" and "proud to be a brony" were actually taken seriously, and "my little dashie" was hailed as a masterpiece. Pfah!

If the Tinkerbell movies taught me anything it's that I probably would have preferred more Disney Cheapquels. THANKS JOHN LASSETER. I actually liked Cinderella 3: A Twist in Time.

The cheapquels ruined my childhood. At least these ones are not the total worst of crap, and they have 95% less musical numbers.

And there is glitter.
