There are no friends, no such thing as male allies, no anything...

Ah. THAT'S where the venom from last strip came from.

Stripeypants mentioned in the last thread that Blue might be angry at Monique for fighting the patriarchy. Assuming that Blue really did think of Monique as something of a friend, I can see how that might have compounded her feelings of bitterness and betrayal.

Edited to give credit where due.

Don't worry Blue. I've been rooting for you and Fuchsia to get back together for years now.

I'm sure Fyoosh would still be willing to be your friend, Blue, if you would still be hers without trying to change who she's chosen to become. If you could. If the conflict didn't tear you up inside.

Wow, she's still pissed about how Fern (Lime?) replaced Fuchsia, and that Fuchsia is now gone.

People cannot just replace other people... like it or not, we are not lego-bricks. Because one person is capable of filling a niche it does not mean just anyone can.

Imho, fern and fyoosh are similar to each other now, but old fyoosh remember kinda tried to corrupt crim even. I see fyoosh as complex, but I see fern as a very simple if pleasant character.

I'm not sure they've even spoken since Fuchsia left. Despite the fact that Fuchsia is one of the easiest characters to find since she's almost never anywhere but under that tree.

It's really up to Blue to take the step towards the tree. Fyoosh can't go back to the mansion after all. Still the whole thing is so sad. ;.;

No matter how I like B.B. and I'd like to see her back with Fuchsia and being friends with Monique and all, I don't think it would be 'productive' at this point, for the comic. Big D. can't be alone in his "enterprise". And it wouldn't be fun to have him simply with generic characters by his side, some of the "main" devil girls have to remain evil for this whole hell-evil-corrupt-state thing to work. And if B.B. remains bitter over the past, I can see her functioning very well as a "passionately dedicated evil enforcer" of sorts.

Well, see, that was the beauty of the way things used to be. Baby Blue and Fuchsia were 'Nique's friends even though they considered themselves evil. Crim hung out with Fuchsia even though Fuchsia self-defined herself as evil.

Being evil didn't stop them from being nice people. That IMHO was a much more interesting perspective than what we've got now. Oh well.

I'm reminded of this strip:
http://www.sinfest.net/archive_page.php?comicID=3337

where the implication is that "evil" is simply an objective quality, no less "innate" to Devil People than are horns and tails. In what other way can "Just Say No to Evil" be considered an expression of prejudice (which is what I presume Tat was going for there)?
