Congrats. I don't think anyone ever claimed it was impossible to make money on bitcoins. I'm glad to see you're treating it like an investment rather than a savings, though.

remember when Bitcoins were worth like 70 bucks?

seems like getting rid of the silk road only further legitimized it as a currency

plus, having it advertised on cable TV didn't hurt either

Thy once again quintuples his investment

probably gonna sell some if/when it reaches 400, then rinse and repeat

this sure is fun

Here's to hoping your "super secure" ninnernets funny money doesn't get hacked and stolen before it hits 400.

I'm not sure why anyone with bitcoins would use a wallet service, though

A combination of convenience and supposed security

The reason the hackers attacked the supposedly secure service was simply to prove that it could be done, and they had much more to gain for all that work.

This is partially the reason no one will bother messing with individuals operating on their own. Too little to gain for a ton of work.

common sense dictates that taking ~$1 million worth of bitcoins was a pretty good opportunity

I'm not entirely sure because guessing Thy's point is always problematic but I think he's saying that they did hack it because it was a good amount of money.

Like, he's agreeing with you in the weirdest way.
