Or maybe someone that thinks going out into the woods for manliness training, so that he commune with his 'natural' wolf-ness. _________________ ::lesser crisis mode::

Pretty much all of them would have just rather it never have happened in the first place. Many of them were irrevocably changed. Some were left a shell of what they once were, and a couple of them even killed themselves. Still others, with years of counseling, managed to recover to a point where they could function somewhat normally in society. |
I completely stand by and believe it when I said that through suffering people and, though it is still a work in progress, hopefully myself can come out the other side as more patient, empathetic, kinder, gentler, generous people. My suffering was real, completely debilitating, and agonizing to the point of multiple suicide attempts (not from depression but just as someway, anyway to end the pain). And while it's in its very early stages and I'm having to struggle with a lot, and there is even farther to go, I do think I will be a better person afterwards. Sure I would have preferred that it never happened but I think and hope I can come out on top of this.
The difference between me and the people you're describing is that I only had to deal with pain and suffering where as they experienced pain and suffering too, but more importantly they suffered a significant trauma. Trauma is the key here, it is what makes those experiences different from people like me and it is also the most difficult aspect of their suffering to treat.
edit: just to be clear I would never wish this upon anyone else and though it can be frustrating when so few people understand what it is like I actually get kind of sad when I finally do meet someone who has been through or is going through something similar because I just can't stand the thought of anyone else having to deal with something like this, even if it's a complete stranger. _________________ Formerly Green_Finn

Ah Stripey, I hope that my small meltdown doesn't hurt my chances of becoming a sisterhood warrior? Down with the Patriarchy! Rar!
On second thought never mind, wouldn't want to belong to any club that would have me as a member. _________________ The Angry Asshat. |

It's funnier if I don't. Google that phrase and you'll probably get it, or not, it was more of a 1930's-50's joke. _________________ The Angry Asshat. |

I do have to admit, though, after the meltdown i went and picked up some books on feminism that Tat used in the comic.
I have to admit I could not sit them down lightly, I had to throw them against the wall with great force. _________________ The Angry Asshat. |

He means he melted down from a troll into another, different troll. Simple enough.
That fact that he points to the two comics he posted as a "double standard" amply demonstrates he has made it a point not to learn a thing. |

As for the meltdown, you know, the rambling, the complain, posting a pic of tat in Lingerie burning down the house of sinfest to get banned... (Apparent if you use decent art to insult him he doesn't get that mad).
I just know that I can't really post my opinions on the matter without being yelled down at, and asking for clarity and getting frustrated leads to me being believed I have aspergers. _________________ The Angry Asshat. |

It's less that and more the "I choose to ignore the obvious message in Tat's comic because it conflicts with my own worldview" part that leads people to believe you have Asperger's. |

So what judging a person positively isn't different than judging them negatively. Sure Squig was looking at porn, but still, the girl was basically eyeing up the other guy. Slick was just more vocal. _________________ The Angry Asshat. |
