But I want to start a webcomic, myself... :\ But I don't think I'm a good enough artist. Or writer, for that matter. |
The worst picture is the one that never gets drawn, and writing is like wiping your ass. |

I keep telling myself to make portfolio worthy works of awesome and I end up making terrible gifs and today I drew a moth fairy for no good reason. _________________ Samsally the GrayAce |

I was actually just thinking, looking at yours, that you'd be welcome to color my linework anytime! |
Haha, color is an interesting thing. It's all about mixing the right colors with the right undertones. Warm and cool colors. And unfortunately, it's one of the things you then just have to practice with. Unfortunately, it's not the kind of thing I'm even the best at. I should be better, because I was getting really good in my days when I still painted. But, the need to make a living kind of made me too used to following a formula about it. Don't get me wrong. I'm sure we'll all eventually get that way, because it's necessary, but I feel like I went wrong.
But still, I do try to occasionally color other people's lines sometimes. I like doing it.

Charcoal was probably my first real fine-art love, before I got into oils and acrylics. I love the ability to quickly create a full drawing by blotting thick dark areas and using a Tortillon to spread it out. (Or my fingers honestly) When I worked in acrylic I was notorious for finger-painting more-or-less. That's the biggest thing I missed when switched to digital. xD _________________

It's what I'm doing lately in order to learn. I'm less attached and overly frustrated/critical with it. Makes it easier to just practice. |

I made a nice little list on the first post. I even learned how to make proper URL links for you all!
....and I should add me too.
https://greenwickpress.deviantart.com
https://www.furaffinity.net/user/stripeypants/
And then I'll have a comic here at some point: stripeypants.com
I'm on page 28 of the thumbnails, and have set a goal of 30 before I actually make full pages. So of course I'm dragging my feet on these last two pages of thumbnails. Predictably yesterday my brain was all, "Hey...why even make a comic? It's not like you need to or really want to." Which is around when I usually stop, except I haven't made it this far before.
So whatever, brainvoice. Comic ahoy! _________________ ::lesser crisis mode::

Oh, right, I made this thing. And stripey told me to post it here, so I must obey.
A thing that is perhaps best left forgotten...
THE EMBER SAGA
It's in storybook format with captions! Click on the first image in each post and use left-right arrow keys to relive this horror straight out of semi-recent Sinfest forum history.

My photography page on Facebook.
It's pretty focused on local bands during live performances, but not exclusively. I've been encouraged to put together an album on there of my other photography but I've never really put that kind of portfolio together before and I'm not looking forward to digging through years worth of photos to do that. |

I drawed a faun baby, just for the cuteness.
Tried a different coloring method, and am happy with my own progress there.
Also, pretty darn proud of myself for getting this done start-to-finish yesterday. |

Adyon, your work is freakin' neat. Watched and Faved.
Aaand, I got StripeyPants Watched too! Woohoo!
So! As the Sinfest Elders know, I have been doing fractal artworks for some time lately. Like almost ten years. I have a DA: http://meddlerinc.deviantart.com/
In which I post nifty artworks. Like this one.
I also post occasional knitting and stuffs there also. Fair warning.
And I have an FA: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/meddlerinc/, in which I mostly post stories and the rare commission. And colors of said commissions. Like this.
Yes, that's my 'sona. Yes, he's knitting a Tom Baker Scarf. Yes, you did see him dancing the Macarena in the first page. (Thanks Samsally!)
And of course, if you have a Ravelry page, you can check out my knitting here in my gallery. I also make bread, but that's an entirely different page... _________________ WARNING: Microwave musclebear detection devices in use on these premises!

Ooh fractals and all those kinds of things! Fun!
Did a weird little drawing for a company project (The same group that I did the Diaries of the Invasion comic) that they may try and pursue for a television show.
I enjoyed painting so much snow, even if I had to be fairly cartoonish with it.
Also, my wife pointed out how funny it would be if this got picked up and the first thing I somehow got really known for was a cartoon snowball. Ha. Then again, I doubt my name would actually get associated.
Similarly, a close online artist friend of mine did the early main splash screen art for Angry Birds. He just also happens to do VERY different normal art. He's the guy who draws Gone With the Blastwave, if anyone here has ever read/heard of that comic. _________________

So I decided to open up commissions. Odds are high I won't get any bites, but I figured I'd post it here if anyone was interested. Details are here.

I see commission spreads like that on DA and FA all the time. Do they actually work?
Also, here's me trying to be more inclusive in my drawings:

(Yes, it's still pony-related, but it's human.) |

Oh man now I feel like an ass for not seeing this sooner. Sorry Rune!
I did get one commission out of it. So... kinda?
Anyway, I made a thing for a contest. I don't know if people "liking" it would help or not, but I'm kinda proud of how it turned out. Tempted to look into making one for myself. _________________ Samsally the GrayAce |
