Ikari.
On an unrelated note, reprogrammed fembot needs a proper name.

Nice. I thought she pretty much did encompass rage. (obviously)

I know I said this before, but I will be interesting to see where this story goes.

Ooh Sinfest Caligraphy. It's been a long time.

The funny thing, I was just reading the Sinfest book last night and thought how the few last strips would fit with these... Is Tat a mind reader ? Smile

It's not a point, I just know Tat's track record, make something seemingly big start to happen then drop it like a ton of bricks. Mark my word there will not be a continuation to this untill next month.

I thought the Chinese was 怒 -- what's the little extra bit? Is that for the Japanese version?

The reading (as pointed out in the first post) is いかり or ikari - the final character is り (ri) while the kanji itself (in this case) is いか (ika).

Because my brain likes weird connections, I saw ikari and immediately thought of Icarus. But he's pride, not rage- different deadly sin.

I missed out on posting yesterday so I'll do my best to express what both it and today's comic made me stop to consider.

And for the most part while I'm not a fan of the idea of her using violence to solve violence, since Fembots under the 'law' I presume are considered property much like one's computer or otherwise, going to the law for his abuse wouldn't accomplish much. And what he did was undeniably WRONG, the parallels between the abuse shown to the Fembot who is 'property' and without rights and how spousal abuse was ignored in the past when women were just 'property' and without rights is very apparent. But the reason I'm against violence is because it would rarely solve such a problem, she can beat the guy for what he did but it won't stop him from doing it again, and the next victim might get it worse..... Though worse than dismantling/death I'm not sure how Sad He deserves to be punished, to be shown the cost of what he's done, but a beating won't do that, so I hope that in perhaps meeting Rogue or Botsy or whatever she ends up being called he realizes that she was and could have been more than just a piece of property.

And on another note I want to address something else that bothered me in the same context, and that was what Curly did in regards to the Fembots in the factory. This is not hate for the Sisterhood, I usually love them and the messages they represent, however this one instance was a display of poor choice on Curly's part. I agree with the idea of reprogramming the Fembots, letting them explore a broader range of emotions and experiences than being perfect slaves to men. However, what Curly did was filled them full of as much rage and hate from events of the past 2000 years then let them loose like rabid animals. She didn't try to give them a new perspective, she didn't try to help them or free them, it felt very different from what her character was and has been since then.

Now I'm not saying that leaving them in slavery was the better option, and since Curly WAS ignorant that the Fembots could 'evolve' beyond their basic functions, so to her at the time she was just programming drones. But what I would like to see one day is Curly and Botsy meeting, and her reflecting on her actions, realizing that in what amounted to basically a solitary act of terrorism against D's machinations, she sent a group of potentially sentient 'Young Women' to their deaths and abandoned them to their fates.

I think we see another proof of Tat reading the forums and responding to them, which is always lovely. "Toasty"...hehe..."Sentient Toasty, perhaps?"
