Yo, dinglebros over on Shittywebcomics: the punchline of this comic is not, in fact, "LOLZ GAYS."
it is "haha awkward over-the-top crossover slashfic a little poorly executed teehee who would seriously ship that, oh wait people actually do!, uhhh... wow, that is awkward, haaaaa."
or, depending on who you are, maybe "yes good this is great I ship this hahaha," which isn't really a punchline

but what the fuck ever

I think the punchline is more along the lines of ''slick being really into porny fiction, but the moment the setting steps out of his desired 'sexuality-matches' he views it as problematic''. Something regarding double_standards/hypocrisy when it comes to erotic media.

maybe it's "lol Slick is almost as much of a hypocritical piece of shit as the human trash over on Shittywebcomics hahaha"
which isn't really funny

I stand by it being "hahaa awkwaaaard slaaashfic"iiiip
which also isn't really funny
unless you haven't already spent too much time laughing at the really awful slashfics

but what the fuck ever

No, it's an obvious exploitation of a scene from a cartoon for the sake of a viral tumblr post.

What you're doing is like looking at this piece by Carl Warner

and saying, in total deadpan seriousness, "No, those aren't sand dunes, that's actually some dude's back and shoulder! And a belly, there's definitely a belly in there."
like, no shit, Sherlock

linking to the original scene can be good, though
so

I think I'll give your post an overall grade of B-
good job, you pass, and gain 32xp!
just 7828484592 more xp and you advance a level

Gad-zooks, it's true! I never considered that I could possibly be wrong. How wrong I was indeed. You have shown me the light. If only I had the restraint to not open my mouth when my brain obviously has not processed the data for public consumption.

The belly-button? Whoa! Where did that come from? What happened to the placenta? I think more people should ponder the horrors of the placenta when they seek to copulate. Or at least consider processing them into much-needed stem cells.

On a unrelated note, some hot DAWG was all up on my GRILLE! I was like, yo' dog! What you doing up there! LOVE don't live here no more for you, Gecko. Get UP off of the ya' know what I mean ! Comma COMMA; Chameleon? Yes! TAKE ME TO YOUR LIZARD !

Wait, ack, you had actually linked to a different scene, and were making a joke based on that. I hadn't noticed, and I never watched the cartoon, either, so I thought you were describing the actual scene.

I change the grade of your original post to a B (worth 37 xp instead of 32) and give my response to it a C for not bothering to watch the 10 second video you linked to.
Your more recent post only gets a D+ (worth 0 xp), though.

We need an epilogue with Gay Guy's boyfriend showing up dressed as Batman. Slick would need to awkwardly leave the room durring the resulting makeout session...and would probably go home and watch lesbian porn...

I really enjoy this strip.

And it's only vaguely related, but a few minutes ago I came across this Batman/Mr Freeze themed gay wedding:

Very cute and happy making. Very Happy

I think the punchline is more along the lines of ''slick being really into porny fiction, but the moment the setting steps out of his desired 'sexuality-matches' he views it as problematic''. Something regarding double_standards/hypocrisy when it comes to erotic media.

That's how I read it, too. Remember the popular but as far as I know sourceless saying that "Homophobia is the fear that gay men will treat you the way you treat women"? Obviously not ideal or universally applicable (women can be homophobic too, etc.) but this is pretty much the issue here. Homophobia for many men is rooted in not being accustomed to being the gender that's objectified by someone with the power to actually do something about it AND whom you probably don't want doing anything about it, as opposed to the "I'd love to be raped by a woman!" crap.

It's also about misogyny in fan communities. Since the vast majority of slash and "shipping" (which usually involves slash because people use the characters they like, and when 95% of any typical given movie cast ist male because of representation issues... yeah) communities are female, intersection with the male parts of the fandom tends to involve a lot of them sneering at the slash fans and/or being disgusted that these damn shippers take everything out of context and MY SUPERHERO IS NOT GAY DAMMIT GO AND HAVE YOUR PERVERSE SEXUAL FANTASIES SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I see this on Tumblr all the time and the superhero genre is particularly badly off. Even though men are still served and placated with every turn by *canon* events, artwork and stories that over-sexualies the objects of their preferred sexuality and have giant blockbuster movies made that are basically nothing but elaborate 14-year-old-boy wet dreams come true, the moment someone depicts *their* gender in a way that makes them uncomfortable, it's the goddamn end of the world.

It happens in the My Little Pony fandom, with many a guy upset at anyone who thinks of Rainbow Dash as gay.

braemac OTP
flutterdash OTP
vinyltavia OTP

I am having difficulty thinking of OTP that isn't gay, but it might exist
I believe

also apparently there is an actual company called braemac, and now that combination of syllables is more associated with shipping stallions than it is with the company, which is hilarious

Oh, and with the "OMGgERD RAINBUROW DURSH ISZNT G@AY!!!!11!!!!!1!" thing, I think that's just as much people annoyed that people would automatically assume that about the butch rainbow pone (who has no canon orientation) because of shit stereotypes as it is people who are actually uncomfortable with it.
Of course, neither group understands the power of the OTP.
I don't think Rainbow Dash is gay. I simply acknowledge the OTP. OTP could have been different.

OTP could have been different.

ok maybe it couldn't have been

AAAAAAAAAaAAA OKAY i ACCEPT IT I'M SORRY FOR QUESTIONING OTP IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN

THAT'S ENOUGH, TUMBLR! ii SAID i'M SORRY OK

yES OK i'M SORRY
i UNDERSTAND NOW
OTP IS A FIXED POINT IN SPACE AND TIME
IT CANNOT BE REWRITTEN

if anything, bronies tend to get more upset at male slash pairings than anything else
