Oh man I will be so excited if Slick actually has some character development.

On an unrelated note, what the hell happened to the furniture and laptop in the last panel? It's completely disappeared.

With Slick's first sincere announcement of a desire to change, made because of his own conscience, rather than a totally-understandable-but-still-insincere desire for cookies, the connection between the altworld of Kcils and the primary Sinfest universe is fading.

Kcils is no longer able to enter the Sinfest universe as his shadow (thus the knocking).

Perhaps also, even the visual connection between the two worlds is fading, Kcils is no longer able to discern the furniture within the room.

The connection between the worlds will soon cease to be, and Kcils will be left standing at a mirror in his altworld, with no way to reach into the primary world to screw with Slick's head.

Or maybe I'm reading way too much into it and Tat just didn't want to draw anything blocking our view of Kcils pounding at the mirror.

...

Nah, I like my explanation better.

SLICK.
You are BETRAYING YOURSELF.
Come back to the dark side Slick.
No I'm not your father but GET BACK HERE ANYWAY.

eternal solitude in a blanked-out mirror world

a fate worse than death

gosh

personifying and embodying patterns of thought leads to some pretty dark implications

I am Hopeful, if not entirely optimistic. I really, REALLY want to see Slick change for the Better.

I just hope we don't see this whitewashed because of Devil Douchebaggery. Just as Slick hopes to change D man just outright Bomfs him, or in the face of seeing him change for the right reasons, D man tries to lure him back towards the wrong ones. Maybe sending him a Devil girl to get him thinking 'right' again....

Dammit Slick, fight the good fight and come out a better person in the end, make us all proud!

I'd guess that in his haste, Sleaze flipped the table aside.

He has been here many times before. If I remember those charts that Mr. Ishida used to do mapping the repetitive cycles of Squig, Monique, and Slick, Slick would normally delete his pornography collection, spend a day or two feeling virtuous, then begin to feel desire that he does not know how to satisfy as enthusiastically as he did with his original habit, and in the end (reason being trumped by lust) revert.

I suspect that something more than his decision to change (for he has decided that before), and his realisation that his pornography habit is 'sexist' (for has judged that habit to be bad before, for other reasons), shall be required for his change to plausibly stick.

Well, you can all cheer and pop your confetti. I'll be over in this corner here, being cynical and shit, until a difference is actually made.

Words are wind. Let's see what he actually DOES.

EDIT: And just to make one not-serious point, it took him maybe a couple seconds to go from "I should quit porn," to "cut down a bit." If he keeps capitulating to his carnal desires at this rate, he and Sleaze will have completely swapped places by the end of the next strip. Laughing
