The juxtaposition of Monique and Stripper-Demon is just... wow.

I wonder if Stripper-Demon is related to 'Nique in any way.

Not to mention the juxtaposition of Tat and God!

God looks sorta in righteous anger mode. You'd think he'd be, I dunno, more restrained after killing and endangering so many people with his pity party?

But no, he looks ready to blame someone(s) for the ordeal. Doesn't look good, to me.

I feel like it's more "four difference ways of asking the question":
-- Monique, angry at people who expect a certain type of entertainment
-- Stripper-Demon (<>Mary?</s>Apparently Sapphire. Editing to fix.), resigned to entertain people with a certain type of entertainment
-- Tat, honestly curious whether he's doing a good job of entertaining
-- God, basically demanding that people be entertained

That said, I agree the juxtaposition of all of them adds layers, partly in categories of two (stage entertainers and creators), because how [strike]Mary[/strike]Sapphire feels is how Monique used to feel, and Monique feels is how [strike]Mary[/strike]Sapphire aught to feel; and God is also curious as to how his work is actually received, and Tat feels like he deserves the satisfaction of being entertaining.
As a final, lesser (double) layer, Monique is also probably curious about whether she actually is entertaining, and also doubtlessly feels like she deserves to be entertaining, [strike]Mary[/strike]Sapphire feels curious about what her audience is thinking, and also would like to be entertaining, rather than just titillating, Tat probably often feels like he's confronting us over what we expect, or feels like he's giving in without challenging us, and God sometimes feels like people take so much from this world without acknowledgement, getting either annoyed or just disappointed.
</OverAnalysis>

Also, should I feel vaguely insulted that we're being stood in for by Pooch?
(Oh! Not that there's anything wrong with that, Pooch. I mean, I didn't mean... oh, don't look so sad, please!... Here, I'm sorry, just let me pet you. Please?..)

((Edited to fix who Stripper-Demon was.))

Is the stripper-demon not Sapphire? I could have sworn it was her.

I desperately want Sapphire to discover the Sisterhood and find a new purpose in life.

Panel 2 is the only one I dont understand. The other three show someone facing an unappreciative audiance. So for them the line makes sense.

But Sapphire seems to be dancing for a pretty enthusiastic crowd, if the reaching hands and wads of cash are any indication.

It's an audience she Hates, Tat has gone out of his way to show that the presumption that ANY of the Devil girls chose this life or enjoy the actions they perform is completely false. That all of them are victims of circumstance and/or somehow forced into their roles and would leave if they could, with the POSSIBLE exception of Blue. But it seems that Fushia is the only one to realize that they can just by being willing to walk out of their 'comfort zone' and try living differently, then again she might be an exception in the fact that by right's D should have hold of their Souls to some extent so forcing her back should be within his power, but we won't know until it comes up. :S

It's a direct reference, at least from my perspective, that most women in disadvantagous positions in life have them forced on them by an uncaring society/The Patriarchy. Strippers, Prostitutes, Escorts, Nude Models, etc. All people who went into those lives not because of any childhood Dreams, but because they felt they had no choice, that degrading themselves for 'entertainment' was the only way they could survive.

And that's only for a POSSIBLE majority of them in the business in North America and a few other 1st world nations, I could even be wrong in this as I have no hard numbers to prove one way or the other. In many others, 3rd World especially women are forced into such jobs, no choice given, and even here as well, at young, disgustingly young ages in fact.

In Monique's case, obviously the crowd is not entertained, or they would not be throwing tomatoes at her. So, no.

In the stripper's case, her audience seek the titillation of lust, rather than entertainment. But the similarly seedy gladiatorial games counted as entertainment. Hence this might, too, dpending on how you cared to argue it. So, maybe.

In Mr. Ishida's case, his dog clearly cannot discern the joke of whatever strip he is holding up for its scrutiny. So, no.

And God has just finished weeping over his irrelevance, and been rebuked by an angry Sister, so presumably his audience is not entertained by his antics. So, no.

A possible 1 out of 4. Remarkably, his stripper's performance bids fair to surpass God's.

As for me: sometimes. I find the strip challenging more often than it is entertaining, which isn't a completely bad thing. Ideally it would be both at the same time - simultaneously able to amuse and instruct - but one or the other is still good. It's probably quite difficult trying to entertain as a provocateur.

Edit: Though it occurs to me that perhaps to be passionately un-entertained is still, in a sense, to be entertained; for those men throwing tomatoes at Monique are still engaged and diverted. To get a reaction, whether good or bad, is the aim of some artists.
