In different variants of the legend, the sword in the stone and excalibur are different blades....the latter involving the lady in the lake. Who could've been a cool character to introduce if this comic is going arthurian on us.

Or. Forged in Dragon flames? Could Sinfest's resident dragon be involve more with the girls? I'd actually like seeing that.

And I'll be on my crazy conspiracy train going this way now....

That's right, isn't it? The sword from the stone broke when he fought Sir Pellinor, didn't it?

I think that was his name. I get the names confused all the bloody time.

Percival, Pellinor...

Gawain, Galahad, Gareth...

i'd be surprised if it turned out to be an arc or have any future relevance considering that this is part of a series of one-offs involving various objects which are all called excalibur

I know the Excalibur strips aren't canon but really Tats? Putting a magic super weapon into the hands of your most violently psychotic character?

Well, I mean, she hasn't actually hurt anyone yet, has she?

And it's not necessarily a superweapon. Being forged in dragonflames doesn't necessarily make it any better than any other good stout staff, does it?

And it's probably a damn heavy stick, too. Forged metal and all.

Nasty tin thing.

I would tell her to stick to wood.

Yes, you can't beat wood.

Gooooooooone.

What the fuck are you all talking about?

What she has right there is the key to Kami's look, just use it on top of Korrin's tower and you're all set.

also, Jin Mo-Ri's new toy.

That Sun-wu Kong garbage is soo 500 years ago.

Man you know, everyone always goes on about "Excalibur! Legendary Sword!"

The *scabbard* was "worth ten of the sword", though, and that always seems to get left out in modern stuff. The scabbard made him nigh impossible to kill (depending on the telling, wounds inflicted on the bearer when wearing the scabbard wouldn't cause death by blood loss.. or in some cases, *wouldn't bleed at all*)

The sheathe was far more powerful than the weapon.

but only in the protection it gave the wearer - not in his ability to inflict harm (and thus to conquer).

interesting little difference in outlook.

Yes, but the sword was shiny and it had sparkly rocks in it, and the scabbard was just dumb old leather. A fashion faux pas - Arthur was royalty, you know, he couldn't walk around with shit all over him. How would people be able to tell he was a king?

I recently read the story of Gawain and the Green Knight, and it pays a lot of attention to fashion. The whole thing seems to be some kind of ruse to explain why knights wear fancy green girdles.

Which doesn't have much to do with Excalibur, but I want to participate.
