I hate to be the one to say this, considering I really liked this one and dont want to start a big argument, but I wonder how the Sisterhood would react if this situation were reversed. If Crim was painting Fuchsia I'm sure Xanthe would come zooming in and make some comment about the exploitation of women.

But Fuchsia painting Crim in the nude... yeah thats fine. No issues with that.

I guess it's more that it's Crim of all people to be posing as a sexy man.

And it is sexy. Cool

True. I really do wonder how that conversation went, where she talked him into doing it.

Its not really important I suppose. Just noticed at times the Sisterhood seems to have some double standards, which is odd considering there supposed to be fighting for equality.

I don't completely get what you're going at. Crim is willingly posing for Fuchsia (because he is her boyfriend). If the Sisterhood had come in when Fuchsia is willingly posing for Crim and making a fuss, then I would have said they had a double standard. Right now though, there's not much going on.

Tat's comics does have the Sisterhood always fighting for women, and as much as I'd like to have a male character that the Sisterhood fights for and says HEY GENDER ROLES ARE STUPID STOP ASKING MEN TO ALWAYS BE MACHO, I never liked the idea that if feminists don't actively and loudly help men they aren't for equality. It totally derails from the fact that men are in the position of power in the first place.

Anyway, back to sexy Crim.

Yes everything Yinello said. Only reason I can imagine the Sisterhood stepping in if there was a woman posing was if it was in a ridiculous TnA comic book gratuitous sexy pose with art direction along the lines of "Look more submissive! Part your lips like you're about to give a blow job! Thrust those titties out more!"

I laughed at Crim's expression, for some reason I imagined he's just thinking "Okay, frown a little. Be serious. Serious painting. Oh god I can't hold this pose."

Seriously if he manages to hold that pose for more than like five minutes he could get a job as a professional life model. You do not realise how difficult it is to stay still like that for that long until you try and everything hurts.

It was just an observation. Like I said, didn't want to start a big thing over it. So I'll say no more about it.

Back to Crim watching. Cool

Yeah I think thats why most nudes are done lying down. Cant be easy to pose like that for hours at a time while the artist paints. At least he's reclining. Plus I'm sure she'd let him take a break after a while.

Yeah he's lying down but he's got a lot of weight on his left arm (on the right from our view) and that is gonna get uncomfortable quickly. So is that leg.

Can't believe I'm discussing the practicalities of holding a life drawing pose in a cartoony comic where people's eyebrows often fly off their face.

I would have paid good money to have Crim say something like "I believe you are blushing Miss Big Artiste!" in that last panel.

That would be gold.

I really want a continuation comic of Crim constantly failing to stay still.

As a note on possible objections, there is certainly a double standard in the art world with the whole "female muse" thing and how female bodies are portrayed vs male bodies.

But. I'd give the Sisterhood, who seem to know their shit pretty well, some credit for being able to distinguish between artistic representation of the human form and exploitation.
