Well, we might get to see that Slick/Sleaze showdown after all. |

I like panel two. The mirror shadow placement.
Please let this arc continue to develop! _________________ I just wander in and out as I please. |

Showdown!
Showdown showdown showdown showdown!
Showdown!!
Probably building up over the next two-to-four-weeks, at least, though. Probably not soon. And rightfully so: Tat is probably giving Slick a similar (though stretched and warped in some ways) journey to his own. It'll probably be slow, spread out over a long time, sprinkled with normal activities that are sometimes steps forward, sometimes back... And then we get to the showdown, with Friday and Saturday exchanging blows and witticisms, and then a large, dramatic thing on Sunday, climaxing in ... I dunno, something "I don't need to fight you physically" like. And then a devil girl comes up and starts to give him a lap-dance, and he's like "I don't want that -- I'm a feminist. Now lets get you some clothes, and a less demeaning line of work." Or something. I'm not a writer. |

....what if Slick googles "red pill"...you know where that would lead him, yes...? There won't be any character development after that. Evah. |

Urgh. And just when I had forgotten about that awful place. I hate them for taking the reference. |

Well, not necessarily. I suspect everyone's got that little voice in the back of their head. That niggling, dark little voice that points out how easy it would be to crush someone, or the right words to completely destroy a person's day/week/month/relationship, or other such things.
The key is that the voice is *yours*, though most people don't seem to realize they've got it.
It's when you think you hear *other people's* voices in your head that you may be going nuts. _________________ "No, but evil is still being --Is having reason-- Being reasonable! Mousie understands? You're talking about the Imp of the Perverse:
wiki wrote: | The Imp of the Perverse is a metaphor for the urge to do exactly the wrong thing in a given situation for the sole reason that it is possible for wrong to be done. The impulse is compared to an imp (a small demon) which leads an otherwise decent person into mischief.
Poe wrote: | We have a task before us which must be speedily performed. We know that it will be ruinous to make delay. The most important crisis of our life calls, trumpet-tongued, for immediate energy and action. ... It must, it shall be undertaken to-day, and yet we put it off until to-morrow, and why? There is no answer, except that we feel perverse, using the word with no comprehension of the principle. ... [Then] The clock strikes, and is the knell of our welfare. At the same time, it is the chanticleer-note to the ghost that has so long overawed us. It flies—disappears—we are free. The old energy returns. We will labor now. Alas, it is too late! |

I think there's a difference between the two things described. The desire "to crush someone" may fall under the desire to "do the wrong thing", but they are not the same. You derive different sort of satisfaction from each, one is a mixture of rebel_act and desire for the perverse/irrational (maybye with a tiny hint of masochism) the other is a desire to display power and dominate. |
