so slick has his demonic reflection... and nique has a demonic shadow.

it'd be really fucked up if they were to ever team up.

I can't tell if Nique's devil shadow is trying to help her or just lure her in. But that seems to be an odd thing about Big D too - hard to tell if he honestly thinks he's improving things or just means to be a giant asshat.

Love the coloring and the sudden twist on 'Nique.

This could serve to get Slick and Nique back in a convo...how long has it been since they were in the same frame?

What this really shows me is that Monique was a lot more "in your face" before she cut her hair, actually. Nowadays, her language is incredibly sterile and bureaucratic. If she were to substitute "kill all men" and a set of witty metaphors for "patriarchy privilege blah blah blah" she would look a lot more like her old self, and I feel that her fans would welcome that, too. A huge part of her appeal, and of the appeal of the venue, is that it's a place of catharsis, of the release of anger, and her current "style" is kind of a wet blanket regardless of the politics involved.

So, 'Nique is either being haunted by her past or is being tempted into using her act to seek revenge against her mockers. Maybe even both.

As I will need to wait to see if MerchManDan's interpretations of this will be right, I think they probably are one way or the other. And while I wait to find this out, enjoy the fact that this is a deep and enjoyable comic.....

All of that is overidden by the fact that THIS reply;

was enough to send me into hysteric laughter as I never expected such from Istancow, usually he's charming and witty, just the blunt WTF moment was epic.

As such I dropped my monocle into my brandy and guffawed quite heartily.

I saw it as a metaphor that she could choose to go over to the "dark side" and use her words and microphone to hurt others if she wanted, and that a part of her wants to.

The colouring is amazing, I love how Tat makes things shiny. The gritty stuff is cool too, I don't know if he's done that before. The comic is literally getting darker and grittier haha.

Also Demon!Nique is sexy. Just saying Wink

Amongst the first I've seen where he acknowledges that a Sisterhood member is less than flawless.

D throwing down against Xanthe and showing her her flaws is one I eagerly await. Life's complicated, as much as we hate it being so, and reducing your opponents to straw-men doesn't help solve those complications. Smile

Great to see what comes forth, 'Nique's progression from here can be great.

Some of the strips, maybe especially the Sundays, have been pretty creepy lately, and this just adds to the creepy train.

I guess this means things work both ways, either good or bad.
