Today I learned that even if I'm in a perfectly good mood, if someone says "I can tell you're mad" to me enough times I will be fucking livid in less than a half hour.

Today I learned more about how to coax some very pretty metal tones out of a Peavey Vypyr 15, an SM57, and software 5-band Equalizer.

Yum.

Hey now. That shit is fucking delicious. I can only eat a little at time though or I get the shits.

Today I learned that many people give infants baking soda because they've been taught that it's a home remedy to keep them from burping up breast milk/make burping easier. Unfortunately, infants don't have the same degree of ability to buffer the rise in pH caused by the sodium bicarbonate as adults, and it can kill them.

Note to self: If I ever have children, keep a bottle of methyl yellow on hand.

Babies have blood pH around 7.3-7.4... not sure a pH indicator that changes color at 4 is going to help you much.

You could:
Put your baby into a plastic bag, recycling its expired carbonic acid to counteract the rise in pH caused by baking soda
Make hydrogen gas with drain cleaner and aluminum foil, have baby ingest it
Give baby an opiate, causing respiratory depression, so less carbonic acid is released
Not give baby baking soda

In my memory, these are hideously disgusting. Too sweet. And the name was always awkward to say as a kid.

Today I learned that there is a pirate version of Batman, complete with a great big beard. I also learned there is a witch hunting version.

Apparently these all come from a comic book where Batman gets unstuck in time, but I prefer thinking they were more like the random, "Hey, what else can we stick on this action figure" ideas.

I think I remember them form the "Batman: Brave and the Bold" animated series.

*edit googled it, the pirate version was in the episode, but the other two were caveman and gladiator. The plot still had to do with time travel:
