I keep wanting a thread like this, so now i've made one. No citations needed for this thread, just share the bits.
Today I learned ancient Irish kings were deposed if cattle didn't do well, and part of that deposement was destroying their nipples. Because you can't be king with ruined nipples. _________________ ::lesser crisis mode::

There was a thread like this, but it's WAY buried.

Anywho, today I learned that Final Draft likes to spontaneously corrupt files and has been this way pretty much forever, everyone knows about it, and no one seems to care. _________________ ...if a single leaf holds the eye, it will be as if the remaining leaves were not there.

Today I learned Ketchup is a non-Newtonian fluid, and the best way to get Heins ketchup out of a glass jar is to hit near the mouth, not the bottom of the bottle. (Actually I find sticking a knife and pulling it out to be even more effective.)
wish I'd known this before have wide access to squeeze bottles. _________________ ::lesser crisis mode::

I honestly don't get what's so bad about ammonium chloride, but okay.
It's a mild irritant, slightly acidic, ...
I bet they also cook with Ammonium carbonate and maybe some other chlorides as well *shock* *horror* _________________ butts |

Just watch out for sodium chloride, that shit's dangerous. _________________ The Thirties dreamed white marble and slipstream chrome, immortal crystal and burnished bronze, but the rockets on the covers of the Gernsback pulps had fallen on London in the dead of night, screaming. - William Gibson, The Gernsback Continuum |

Good point. Also, the ingredient lists makes it even more comical:
Quote: | Modified potato starch, sugar, glucose syrup, ammonium chloride, molasses, licorice extract, color: caramel, flavors, glazing agents: vegetable oil and beeswax. May contain traces of wheat. |
Oh shit man! MAY contain TRACES! OH NOES!!!! _________________ ...if a single leaf holds the eye, it will be as if the remaining leaves were not there.

Oh, I get how allergies work, I'm just always a little amused and disturbed when the allergen warnings include ingredients that aren't part of the product. I mean, I rather see a warning which says "Product was made in a facility which also processes wheat."
The way it's worded, it almost seems like there just may be random ingredients in there. _________________ ...if a single leaf holds the eye, it will be as if the remaining leaves were not there.
