Well, common sense is silly.

And I'm pretty sure we can pretty much ignore common sense when we're talking about Metapedia.

I like that it asks where the next step will lead us, when clearly the answer is "Up."

i'm starting to learn that it must be really irritating to write forum software if you have to introduce every. single. new. word. individually.

I have no idea what you're talking about, but ok

EDIT: oh, you mean the bit of sql in the error message?

that's just phpbb breaking the post down into words for the table of search terms

the code to split a post into words and then send them to the database is by no means complicated - it's the most basic of basic parsing, actually (just split on spaces and punctuation!)-, and it doesn't really have anything to do with anything except the search engine

this system does introduce some annoyances (for example, the search tables get pretty massive, and I guess that annoys some admins), but the thing you're pointing at is probably the simplest thing

since that table's the most obviously borked part of the database - I mean, phpbb is literally yelling at all of the users about it-, it is not surprising that keyword searches don't work at all right now

I thought maybe you meant writing code word by word or something?

yes, since it seems to complain about every unique word it is presented.

now it's mostly annoying me because i don't go immediately back to the forum after i post. all these extra steps!

Unlearn that. That's just wrong......

(Out of curiosity, what did you have that out them together?)

Today I learned that Winco has some cheap tang. It is labeled "Orange breakfast drink." I also learned they call their Lucky Charms "Happy shapes."

I quit my job before coming to Portland for grad school and a couple of days before I left I got a flyer in the mail from Winco asking if I needed a job. Kudos to your market research department, Winco, even if you employ Bellingham's creepiest people.

except it's not complaining about that at all

it's complaining about there being an "Incorrect key file" for a certain table

the nature of the particular INSERT command that phpbb is trying to send to the database is incidental and is mostly just provided to give some context to the error message

....this might just be because there's not enough disk space on the server to store the information?
/tmp needs more space
or the table is corrupt

it's sinfest.

the table is no doubt not only corrupt, but actively spreading evil.

That you can etch blank copper-clad circuit boards using a laser cutter.
