I'd make a joke about Lt. Cmdr. Data from ST:TNG but then you guys would mock me for being a huge nerd. (I freely admit to being a huge nerd, but you don't have to MOCK me about it)

Reminds me of the story when they were getting Watson (the IBM robot) to play Jeopardy.

They were trying to put in more entries to the system in order to give more context.

So, there was a rhyming category where the clue was "Hit below the belt."

Of course the answer is "Low blow."

Watson's first response: "Wang bang."

Context is important.

Nobody made fun of me when my Next Gen joke involved a three hour sketch of Data, Picard, and Troi. Pretty sure you're safe.

You're only become a huge nerd if you are heavily into academic subjects; Steven Hawking is pretty much the Alpha Nerd of this world today, it would be far more accurate to say that you are more of a geek than a nerd.

Finally there is an official difference between geekdom and nerdom.

Geeks obsess over things like Star Trek, Star Wars, anime, comics, The Wire and other pop culture subjects.

Nerds on the other hand, obsess over things like mathematics, astronomy, robotics, geology and other academic stuff.

Nerds = Candy

Geeks ≠ Candy

I'm a gerd, or possibly a neek.

Wait, I don't want to be GERD. So I'm a neek. And I will fight to the death (with my bat'leth, naturally) anyone who cares, because seriously, just shut up about it.

Everyone likes candy. And if they don't then we get to steal their allotted candy because they won't miss it.

I GOT TO PLAY WITH A BAT'LETH ONCE.

They're really awkward.

I'll let you play with my bat'leth. *waggles eyebrows*

Was it as awkward as that?
