Sad as in unhappy or sad as in pathetic?

Imagine if the tipping point when Slick finally starts consistently changing for the better involves him taking off those glasses and showing his actual eyes. I think that would be perfect.

It's true, we haven't. Though we've come close a couple of times.

RE comic: Aww. Slicky still misses 'Nique. Sad

And they will be revealed as two gaping black holes of nothingness.

I bet they'll just be normal. Totally and utterly average, with nothing remarkable to distinguish them from anyone else's. The mystery will be gone and no one will care in the least about looking at them again, because Slick's personality isn't going to compel anyone to spend a long time gazing into them, is it?

I mean, if he's famous, he doesn't appear to be very famous. And given what he owes the devil, I doubt he's rich. His poetry and prose are apparently subpar. All he's got left is his costume, posturing, and his tiny manfeels.

Nique didn't "leave him for someone else." She's never really "with" anybody, actually.

We know that but I guess Slick doesn't. She found different interests and instead of trying to understand them, he's been heavily resisting them. He can easily rebuild the bridge by just trying to be a friend again.

If Tat had waited a few more days to post this, I might have given half a shit about Slick's meager emotional progress. But contrasted with yesterdays strip, it honestly just makes him look even more childish and petty.

At this rate, Slick's redemption will come in the form of becomeing entirely irrelevant and invisible.

PS. And stripey nailed it. Without all that, there's no reason to prop him up as a character in this strip, never mind a main character.

I feel really stupid for having to read this thread to figure out that he was in fact probably referring to 'Nique. I thought he was just tearing up at the idea, whoops.

We're assuming it's Nique but that doesn't have to be true. It could be a random person and he just got too much feels.
