Did the previous years end up going to Heaven or Hell or did they just cease to exist?

It'll be interesting to see how these wishes are granted. Sometimes the Year takes it...

Exhibit 1. - 2009

...and sometimes not... (Exhibit 2 - 2010)

...which can culminate in an explosive situation:

At times, Death may leave thing to the last minute - but he knows how to pull out all the stops to put on an action-packed show (Exhibit 3 - 2011):

2012 was more pensive, reflective, and accepting:

...and while jumpy (with good reason) seems to make new friends well:

...yet when the writings on the wall, understandable wants to delay the inevitable...

And new friends can certainly help in making a fast get-away!

Yet while other things are going on:

And some people don't know when to keep their mouth shut (but it's Squig, so it's all good)

it can be the actions that we least consider...

...that can have the greatest consequences!

All I can say now is, WHAT WILL HAPPEN THIS YEAR?!?!
*DUN DUN DUN!*

(Stay tuned!)

Oh, and epilogue - which leads us to 2013:

The "$your soul" is missing from the panel, making it a LOT less evil, just offering "anything you want".

Given how badly things tend to end when you give a human whatever they want, with no cost to them, I'm not sure I'd call it a lot less evil. Just... slower.

I wonder if Abby redid the sign? Maybe she thought it would attract more customers.

That definitely seems like something she'd do. Enthusiasm, taking initiative, but losing sight of the bigger picture.
