I resolved to try and be more helpful, to get off my lazy arse, and to stop mooching.

Then I remembered, I'm a cat!

Life is good.

But it looks like it's time the sinfest cast began confronting this devil-people issue.

Awwwwwww. Poor Sapphire. And indeed poor Abby for being on the receiving end of that attitude.

I suspect some sort of life-affirming conversation with 'Nique might be coming up for Abby to learn that actually she can aspire to be a positive role model and so on. Either that or she bumps in to Fyoosh and borrows that book Criminy gave her - "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough & doggone it people like me" or something.

Actually - has Fyoosh ever met Abby or Sapphire?

There's a possibility that Fyoosh knows Abby and/or Saph, considering plenty of characters seem to introduce themselves to each other off screen and have unseen connections, but she there has never been a strip where she interacted with either of the two.

Saphy, you're already a positive role model for me. You have a hard life, but you still work hard and get by. You've pulled yourself up by your bootstraps and kept yourself afloat despite everything. Every time I see you, I resolve to work harder.

I wish you'd stop smoking though. It's not healthy for you.

hey, my cats are _always_ helpful!

and it probably no more than doubles the time it takes me to get anything done.

Blue started off in Divinity School, not as a Devil Girl. Then she got a job waitressing, and it was only when she tried Revenge that she turned to the dark side...

drat, you are right - i remembered her in school, forgot she hadn't been devilfied yet.

.....which suggests that crim is right, and no one was always a devil-girl. but blue's story (compared to pebbles) still suggests that there can be different levels of - what, involvement? willingness? self-selection? in becoming a devil-girl.

the devil, on the other hand, seems always to have been the devil, and li'l e was born with horns. so are devil-boys always devil-boys, or are some of them also bomfees?

There's no "headcanon" about it. It's Jesus. If you look up "Jesus" on the archive, the Divinity School strips show up, and he appeared in an earlier strip, Kid Jesus.
