Ooooh, possibly. Mind you, the remote strikes me more as being a sinister sense of "controlling behaviour over someone else" rather than the more positive "being in control of one's own life".

Also, I loved that gun that got zenzapped to go "Bloom!" instead of "Boom!"...

When it comes to systemic and systematic oppression of another group, and how one's own place, power, and status is maintained at the expense of another, the line between the two can be close to nonexistent.

It could be worse:

Tat has yet to experiment with the SURREALITY Zone. If Fuschia put her hand in such a zone, what would we see? A plate of devilled eggs?

And if Tat ever played with the 3D modeller "Poser" we'd get the HYPER-reality zone...

Surreality zone, sure. 3D models? Hell no. For one thing, it's easier to just paint the dang characters photo-realistically than it is to make fully-rendered 'realistic' 3D models of people look like anything more than creepy dolls, especially if you have experience painting but zero experience modelling, and neither is worth the time if you have a comic to update.

Okay, maybe the 2D arting could be cut down to ~20 minutes per panel and still be somewhat passable as realism. Maybe.

As is, the "allergic to reality" comic looks nice, and Sinfest just looks nice generally, but even 2d arting, full-on realism would be rubbish, stylistically, even for a "reality" zone.

in my grumpy, comma-saturated opinion

Uncanny valley zone.

I wonder if the reality zone is affected by states of mind, since the process of becoming a devil person seems to be deeply connected to how brains are affected by circumstance. (Though I have no idea wtf has happened with Pebbles. Very different from the rest.)

Maybe Milton just doesn't think any ore. Nothing left there. It's fun to make toys for a living, but there might not be anything left for him to aspire to. Also, if D is still worried about defectors, a malaise might be permeating devil culture thanks to increased behavior regulation.

I find it hard to keep my feels inside for this comic. D=

edit: I also adore panel 10. The badassery plus cute beanie hat is all of my yes.

Now I absolutely want to see the Surreality Zone.

milton gets attached to his drones, so i have a suspicion that if he makes any changes, it will be something to prevent the next weaponbot from needing to be destroyed - like making them avoid the reality zone. or he may try to make them impervious to the reality zone, which probably has comic possibilities.

i wonder if he will go so far as to check out the reality zone himself....
