He's looking through glasses that show the monetary value of things. That much is correct.

To say that Slick is internalising that and accepting it is a stretch that has not yet been supported.


The glasses may be nothing more than a HUD which demonstrates the monetary value of a thing.

I think it's a pun of sorts. In analytical terms, in various fields, when viewing an object or subject through a specific parameters a common saying would be "examining X through a lens of Y" or something like that. Calling it a filter or HUD or whatever else and it's still the same metaphor. Also, I agree that Slick seeing things through a specific lens != Slick internalizing or accepting those interpretations.
