For a Devil Pictures production, it doesn't seem to present the Devil in a particularly flattering light xD

Happy Birthday, Miss Magenta! :3

the script was probably written by someone else and d-man didnt really care so long as it was all about him, until it was too late, then he cared a lot. everyone involved in the making of the film is burning in hell as we speak, and d-man has tried to get circulation of the film cut, but people always have their ways...

Ahh the lady flounder is adorable.

Seriously Disney, why are all the animal sidekicks male? Or when there are more than one, how come the most important two are both male? Even leaving out ambiguous animals such as Meeko, Flit, and Crikee, I'm still looking at Jack+Gus (Cinderella), Louis+Ray (Princess and Frog), Flounder+Sebastian+Scuttle (Little Mermaid). Seriously what gives?

Maybe it's supposed to balance out the fact that there's usually a female lead? The only example I can think of 'sidekicks' being female is the three fairies in Sleeping Beauty.

i suspect it has more to do with why all the female leads get converted to thin and beautiful and princess-y - the writers are stereotyping girls. and girls aren't action types, like sidekicks. or girls don't have girl-friends, one or the other.

Those three fairies are totally the protagonists.

Also, Male Esmeralda is totally awesome. I've seen three genderbends of that one how, and they're all the best. Sakimichan is, of course, a legend.

Well, if we're looking at Disney animal sidekicks, the only lady hyena was the most dominant of the Lion King hyenas.

Because male sidekicks are much more funny when they are idiotic

Because a guy can be everyone but a girl can only be certain stereotypes. Media logic.

I did not find that on my own. One of my friends posted it on Facebook in a wonderful stroke of synchronicity.
