I'm guessing not, since originally, even The Devil didn't know that Li'l E was The Devil's son.

That's Li'l E's second appearance, btw. At that point, no one was even sure if the horns were real, because there'd never been any other Devil People in the strip before.

A random example of Li'l E's character evolution (if that's really the word that I want):

At some point within the first three years, he stopped being okay with "cute." Wink

Li'l E was debatably less asexual than TheDevilsexual. He'd channeled every emotion, every fiber of his being, to The Devil; striving to be evil was just a sub-category. If he'd thought that The Devil wanted him to be good, I'm sure that he'd have done that instead.

Subsequent revelations have, of course, render that strip infinitely creepier...

See, if I were a devil fanboy I'd probably act like that. Asexuals can act like total obsessed weirdos too.

And yes, later strips do render the earlier ones, er, questionable at best.

I kind of want to call this drone Ramirez because of reasons.

on another tangent (collect 'em all, or don't):

I'm actually enough of a continuity geek to wonder if the woman on the left in Panel 3 might be Candy, the IIRC first woman to respond positively to Slick's crude, clueless advances:

'Cause, see, they've got the same hairstyle.

i really hope tange adopts that little bot for a pet, after this...because i think it has less chance than milton of a happy outcome if it comes back.

Then, while "walking" their drones, she and Abby could have a meet-cute. Wink

Tange, as (almost literally) a child trapped in an adult's body, seems to have no concept of romance (Li'l E is her bestest pal, no more), while Tat (via Squig's eager expectations) has made certain that we can't miss the theoretical romantic overtones in Abby's friendship with 'Nique (so I'm not pulling this totally out of nowhere). It would be interesting to see a situation where, for once, Abby was the assertive one.

Since 'Nique, attracted to Abby or not, is also friends with Tange -- they've known each other since before Tange mastered complete sentences, and they shared that moment with the winged horses http://sinfest.net/view.php?date=2011-09-18 -- she'd be protective of both of them, and then hanging around with two Devil Girls might get her labeled a Devil Lover (in more than one sense of the term), which would either decrease her popularity or send it soaring...

I'm just saying there's some potential there.

There were originally three butterfly-winged drones. Abby has two as "pets"; did we ever learn the fate of the third?

Looking at the third panel, there may be four. This is madness.

Squig's hopes for 'Nique/Abby shipping reminds me of this strip:

http://sinfest.net/view.php?date=2007-12-30

Which actually implies that it's even remotely possible that 'Nique and Slick might have sex one day. Even for this strip, that's pretty far-fetched...

...which comes 15 months before the whole message in a bottle thing that's pretty much killing off the whole Slick/'Nique thing. She's not interested, and at at least some level, he knows that.

Well, yes, but my point, if I may call it that, is that The Devil actually believed 'Nique needed to be "threatened" with the prospect of herpes and AIDS. Like there was even a remote chance of the liaison.

Thinking about it further, the implication that Slick could have herpes, much less AIDS, in order to theoretically transfer it to 'Nique, is itself based on the notion that Slick has ever had sex with anyone, ever. One has to wonder how reality-based THAT is...
