She seems so cheerful about that, too.

I kind of would've rather seen PX's facial expression instead of Li'l E's, though. PX probably does have at least a slight idea of what's going on. Then again, she doesn't have much in the way of facial expressions, so...

I wonder if Tat will break his record of dialogue-less Sunday strips to allow the Sisterhood to explain everything to Tange and company (and to us) in a single info-share. Probably not. If Tess takes them back to Sisterhood HQ (or wherever) and makes introductions, we might at least learn the names of Li'l Sis and Perm-Girl and maybe even Anonymous Sinfest Woman X here:

It occurs to me: Tangerine's pupil-less eyes, unexplained from the start, kind of make her look like a Devil Fembot.

And, unless I'm mistaken, no "full-blooded" Devil Males have pupils in their eyes, either (except for The Devil himself, of course).

At first, I thought that all Devil Women (except for Tange) had pupils in their eyes (except in a few Sunday strips where the POV didn't zoom in close enough for us to get a good look at their eyes), but then I remembered this strip:

http://sinfest.net/view.php?date=2012-08-18

The fact that the bartender has no pupils could be taken to mean that only Devil Women who work directly for The Devil (Blue, Abby, formerly Fuchsia), who live at Stately Devil Manor, have pupils...except that Sapphire has pupils, too.

So I too have no idea what's going on. In that context. Wink

Or there's this, where Fyoosh goes from big, colourful pupils, to white ones, to none, back to white ones, back to coloured ones, back to none again, all in the space of what seems to be a couple of seconds.

Combine that with the examples of pupil-free characters being nice or doing normal boring things and I don't think you can sensibly read anything in to that regarding use-of-powers or degree-of-evilness or whatever. I think it's just artistic style, as the situations demand (or the Cartoonist can be bothered to draw).

Tat draws Tange with pupil-less eyes every single time that he draws her. I remain unconvinced that there's no deeper meaning to that.

I'm wondering if it means that she, like the Fembots, is waiting to be programmed.

The Devil bomfed her (or at least, her Devil Girl persona) into existence and has apparently shown no interest in her since.

Loves ponies, does she? Sinfest has stated the potential future significance of ponies on more than one occasion.

(I like The Devilís casual reaction here. Contacted out of nowhere by some pony-faced digital template? Sure, whatever. In Panel 4, his wineglass just disappears. How odd.)

In the final battle in the epic struggle between good and evil, will The Ponies side with God or with The Devil? Or with neither? And will Tange, "created" by The Devil but still waiting to be "programmed," side with The Ponies or with Jesus?

Maybe she'll just side with whoever Li'l E sides with.

Li'l E, whom she rather conveniently met mere minutes after he'd been rendered amnesiac...while, almost simultaneously, Xanthe clued 'Nique in on The Patriarchy.

Li'l E, who at present loves angels but who is, of course...

Yeah, rather a bit of bad timing there, Blue. You could've upset the chessboard before all the pieces were even in place...

I'm with Yinello and Echo in thinking that Mecca most likely refers to PX. She is, after all, mechanized (and before taking the Mickey on the author for the spelling, consider whether "mecca/mecha" is intended as a play on words, or simply the author exercising a quirk), her abduction was far more public than Tange and Li'l E's infiltration of Devil Tech (and hence more likely to have been observed by the Sisterhood), and the Sisterhood knew of PX through the memories encoded in the Assassin Bot's chip.

Only circumstantial evidence, to be sure, but telling nonetheless.

Ah, poor darling Li'l E. His mind wiped clean, he's taken back to his early days when all he wanted was to be loved. One wonders if he's going to come face-to-face with dear ol' Daddy in this present, vulnerable state. How was it he didn't know his own father in his prior, evil state? Or did the reboot and subsequent hand-waving erase that?

Ohhh...Mecha. I was wondering if there was some kind of Muslim symbolism with PX or something.

By "Perm-Girl", do you mean Clio Mirembe? Because if so, we already know her name.

As for that other woman, I wouldn't exactly call her significant xD I don't think there's any reason why she would be at Sisterhood HQ. I think she was just someone that Xanthe was checking up on, not an actual member of the Sisterhood. We haven't seen anything of her before or since; to all accounts she was just a random passer-by, same as this chick. But it would be cool to meet and learn the names of members such as the ones in this group shot.

That group shot's difficult to pick up much of anything from, other than a hairstyle & colour for each person.

I prefer the group shot at the end of this, with Clio, Xanthe, Tess, Nana, and the girls we've dubbed Violet & Mercy. In terms of the Sisterhood members we're likely to meet, I'm not sure it'll go too much beyond this bunch.

Pretty sure he's referring to the Medic, not Clio.

Why would Tat misspell though? Mecca is where Muhammad had his first revelation of the Quran (Koran). It could be that they perceive Px to be the first fembot to guide her kind to freedom.

Yeah, I didn't know (or had forgotten) that she'd been designated "Mercy." Thanks.

If the Sisterhood has that batch of a dozen or more additional members who confronted Blue that one time when they did that http://www.sinfest.net/view.php?date=2012-01-29 , there's no reason that the woman "reporting" to Xanthe about Slick couldn't also be a member, a field agent of some sort. As Tess and Mercy demonstrate, you don't have to be short to be a member of the Sisterhood.

Why, one might wonder, would Xanthe be seeking data on Slick? Well, this was only a little over a month after Mint did whatever she did to Slick here:

http://sinfest.net/view.php?date=2012-04-01

Just as Xanthe clued 'Nique in on the Patriarchy, Mint, well, she didn't clue Slick in on anything because he still seems entirely clueless about his dEvil doppelganger, but still, she did something.

I suspect that, as Wolfram and Hart once said about Angel (on the TV series "Angel"), Slick is now a "player" in the apocalypse (or whatever) but, as with Tangerine (whom I'm not sure he ever met after he witnessed her transformation), it's not clear whose side he'll end up being on.

Alas, poor Slick, a player at last, and he doesn't even know it...

You are clever. I like this idea!

Also, I wonder if the pupil-less eyes mean that the person doesn't have a sense of themselves as a person?

Speaking of nameless characters, Torture Guy's "formal" name seems to be Porno-Man:

http://sinfest.net/view.php?date=2014-01-29

While, admittedly, most if not all signal/super-hero strips seem to exist outside of strip continuity, such as it is, Porno-Man has actually appeared a second time in what seems to definitely be a mainstream strip:

http://sinfest.net/view.php?date=2014-03-11

Okay, so he has chalk-white skin (hey, just like the Killer Fembots) and he can fly. Which makes him what exactly?

Porno-Man is my hero, and I'm not even into live-action pornography. Most of my fetishes aren't physically possible and if they were would probably be illegal and definitely seen as moral crimes against God, mankind, the rest of the animal kingdom and possibly nature itself. I like Porno-Man because I think he'd get me, or at least he wouldn't judge and we could talk about each other's kinks in a judgement-free environment.

While I think mainstream live-action pornography could certainly do much better as far as content, quality, and treatment of workers I think Porno-Man and I might have to agree to disagree about that, since he wants to waive the issue. As a hero apparently representing pornography that seems more than a little irresponsible of him. He should represent and defend the rights of porn-actors and actresses to practice their craft safely and without coercion or degredation that isn't just consentually-agreed upon acting. The best way to make a world where people don't feel guilty about porn isn't to ignore the issues in the industry, as Porno Man seems to want people to do, or to have everyone stop producing and/or using pornography, as Clio and The Sisterhood seem to want people to do, but to make the porn worth watching and not to harm the human rights of anyone involved.

He could team up with Super Pimp and they could fight for the rights of tricks and ho's everywhere. I'd read the shit out of that.

Well, Super Pimp http://sinfest.net/view.php?date=2006-09-03 is metafictional -- a fictional character created by a fictional character (Slick) -- so he's about as likely to turn up as the Politically Incorrect Fringe Rangers (a running gag that Tat gave up on some time ago). Wink

Still, one never knows for sure, I guess. After all, at least three giant robots have been confirmed to exist in Sinfest's real world, so why not power rangers?

As for Porno-Man, well, just having a cape, however cool-looking...

http://sinfest.net/view.php?date=2004-10-10

...doesn't necessarily make one a hero.

http://sinfest.net/view.php?date=2013-04-28
(Incidentally, the fact that the women are different colors while in the same panel makes it seem to me that it's not just the lighting, they really are different colors. Also, the Search keywords for that strip include "gay" and "lesbian," so Tat (who, of course, is the one who decides which keywords lead to which strips) may have had something deeper in mind than just "oops, can't think of any more well-known feminism symbols, better use GLBT symbols too")

Until we get some kind of explanation for what the deal is with those women (again with the pupil-less eyes) being trapped in a pit ("they rubs the lotion on their skin?"), Porno-Man is definitely on the dark side as far as I'm concerned. His "Cult of Masculinity" exists in Sinfest's real world, so maybe those women do, too.
