And it continues. Poor Squig.

The trauma is no surprise. I just can't yet imagine what role Slick and Squig will play -- if any -- in the ongoing drama. I would like to see Slick lose those glasses, but there's another whole story in the creation of the mirror world that needs telling.

SYMPATHY PSD

I thought Squig and Slick were bros for life, but this is even more hardcore than synching periods.

I... I think I might be getting emotional. *sniffle*

I think we have to put limits at some point. Taco jokes are cruel!

Knowing Squig, he's probably screaming at the prospect of no more tacos instead of getting his head blown off.

Yeah, it's the "No more tacos for you. EVER!" that's Squig's nightmare.

I'm wondering if this is the first strip in a while that's pretty much only there for the humour and no part of it is really going to go anywhere.

Some might say it's not even there for that. Wink

At first I thought that today's strip provided a new bit of info -- the guy at the taco place's name is "Pedro" -- but then I checked:

That sequence kind of gives the impression that Squig doesn't actually know the guy and is calling him "Pedro" just because he's (presumably) Hispanic. Not very PC on Squig's part if so, but then, when you're a talking pig, what's PC?

This reminds me of the fan meme that characters can't have tacos. Why? Because they're DEAD.

Are fish tacos a real thing? I thought that was just a euphemism for cunnilingus.

If it is such a euphemism, there must be a lot of ribald laughter as people drive by a particular taco restaurant in town that advertises fish tacos as a specialty, in large bold letters on their sign. They are certainly "a thing" around here.

Mmmm... let me look it up real quick!

Quote:
Tacos de pescado ("fish tacos") originated in Baja California in Mexico, where they consist of grilled or fried fish, lettuce or cabbage, pico de gallo, and a sour cream or citrus/mayonnaise sauce, all placed on top of a corn or flour tortilla. In the United States, they were first popularized by the Rubio's fast-food chain, and remain most popular in California, Colorado, and Washington. In California, they are often found at street vendors, and a regional variation is to serve them with cabbage and coleslaw dressing on top.

Fish tacos are amazing! They are made with chunks of breaded fish. Delicious!

Taco Del Mar is famous for theirs.

(Ceviche beats fish tacos any day, though.)
