Maybe the thing with the extended panels will be sort of a regular thing now?

I vote this thread, because I really like the title of this comic.

I think he's experimenting with them, so possibly later he'll do something cool and unexpected once he figures out what they work best for. I think it's a pretty cool thing thus far.

Maybe we need to take turns and assign days or somesuch.

Anyway... what? Why are the fiery pits opening up to claim all of Squig's tacos? And what does this have to do with the rest of the tale? I do hope this all fits together.

I think you and Istancow could fight it out with gentlemanly discourse.

I think the pits opened up because of gluttony. And the hungry ghosts refers to creatures from the Buddhist wheel of life. They have animalistic needs, but can never fulfill them. They want to eat all the time, but their necks are so tiny they can't eat anything. Can't remember much else about the wheel, except there is a hell, and some other weird places, and I've been told that it is much better to interpret these places as psychological states.

Perhaps the denizens of Hell don't get fed very well- or very often.

A giant sack o' tacos would be rather welcome, I think. Squig will come out okay in the end, he always does.

Last time the denizens of Hell got fed, it was Squig again, iirc. Only that time it was intentional, rather than this accident.

Anyway, this one quietly amuses me, because the whole "I have urges" thing pops up occasionally on these forums, and Squig being very close to hell-bound after attempting to justify himself feels like a comment on the issues from Tat.

Perhaps it's the third circle.

I could actually believe that Tat has forgotten that Squig had a pre-existing hellhole in his house and is unwittingly repeating himself.

yeah, me too - i like the way the doorframe in the first panel could almost serve as a panel frame, but then you realize panels 2 and 4 are on top of the background that includes 1 and 3.

I thought the hells could close/open regularly... it would seem that Sinfest would be riddled with holes if that was not the case since several have been opened over the tenure of the comic (if memory serves correctly... and it may not admittedly)

A passing notion: The Devil is working hard to turn all of Sinfest into sinners so that he can just collapse the whole city into Hell.

Probably not true, but a neat idea.

Intriguing idea! I wonder if the holes get bigger the more sinners there are too. That would make the whole thing fall even faster.
