Sam Cooke, or "that gospel singer who has my name too" - A Change Is Gonna Come
On NPR's list of 500 most important songs ever ever. Posthumous release, widely regarded as his best composition ever. It became associated with the civil rights movement, but Cooke wasn't around to see his pivotal work in action -- he'd been shot dead, naked, in the hallway of a hotel, while chasing a prostitute that had stolen his clothes and money. |

I agree completely, conspiracy theories aside. I liked that song so much I recommended it last week. |
