|
|
Fun things to help your forum experience!
Adblock: Install it on firefox, it's about the most useful utility out there.
Once you have it installed, you can right click on any image and block it from the source. Your browser will then not display that image again.
I consider it particularly useful for things like these:
1. Someone's got an avatar that stretches the page format. Too big? Too stupid? Nuke it, and the sidebar goes back down to normal size.
2. Someone has a really big signature that, in the end, you only really needed to see once.
3. Someone has an animated signature that, in the end, you only really needed to see for five seconds.
4. Crapflooding (originally the reason for this post's importance, but it's been handled). Say you're browsing at work, and whoops someone's posting pictures of rectal lice all over the place -- adblock helps that out a bit, since you can just kill the spammed pictures and not have to worry about them again.
5. Someone posts a really long or big picture that stretches the page, or posts a series of pictures without breaks that stretch the page. Instant fix.
_
Other helpful shit:
Greasemonkey, if you're arsed to figure out how it works, can block whole posters. Like, whoosh, the posts vanish. Omg.

Why, yes, that is very much appreciated!
Thank you so much!
I had already blocked them, so I didn't notice!

| Oh, yay. That sort of makes the tatyana info useless. Gladly useless. So I can happily dispose of it. |

Tat: Once again swooping down from his secluded jungle layer to correct the world.
I just hope we don't get too reliant on that. |

Well... if he disappears again, there's always adblock.
I think this Topic is still useful, even though Tat got rid of the worst of our issues. |

I can never seem to get my Adblock to work. Atleast not with this enlish firefox version.
It's installed, but it's simply not working. Ideas? I've spotted annoying things allready. |

I use Greasemonkey. It can block posters. And it does. _________________ attitude of a street punk, only cutting selected words out of context to get onself excuse to let one's dirty mouth loose |

Filterset.g is an addon for an addon and blocks common sucky things like advert sites that never load because they exceeded their bandwith because they weren't ready for this kind of business and thus stop the rest of the page you're trying to get to from loading too.

| Is there a way to access a list of your blocked images/sites? I can't find it in firefox help and I sort of accidentally blocked the wrong thing. I was on a pic blocking blitz (without the heavy military equipment). |
