Yeah, this year I decided to deduct medical expenses for the first time. They have to be greater than 10% of your income, which is usually hard, but I only worked for 5 months this year so my $2,300 in expenses finally became deductible!

Probably not. My EFC (a financial aid number, you probably know what it is) was 6,500 last year and I needed it to be 5,500 to qualify for HRSA loans (where they give me "free" money in exchange for two years of service in an underserved area when I graduate) so I emailed financial aid and was like, "Hey, you know I'm all Wilford Brimley over here, do the thousand of dollars I spend on my diabeetus mean anything?" and they said, "No, but if you buy a new laptop we can reduce your EFC by that amount one time."

Anyway, I'd never really sat down and added it all up, so that was interesting.

Just completed FAFSA and taxes myself. The only upside of being unemployed for about half the year is that my EFC is pretty much guaranteed to be zero.

that's.....an interesting way of prioritizing things. cost of treating a disease you are stuck with for life and that will kill you if ignored? not relevant. one-time purchase that you may not even need? absolutely!

Invitations have been sent. Dress is being made and they will call me when I can pick it up. Ring being made and almost done. Location is all mine. Dad arranged the photographer, step-mom will arrange the bouquet and flowers, sister wants to order the wedding cake. Everything's going pretty well.

And I'm still freaking nervous. Arghblarghl.

All this powdery snow we're getting right now would be nice... if it wasn't going to start sleeting and ice storming later in the day.

Running out of fucks to give and surprisingly cheerful about it.

This... probably isn't good.

(every year this fucking holiday just proves it is the worst of all holidays oh my god. this year, in an effort to boost moral, we are dredging up vday themed games and are encouraged to bring a fucking valentines box to work for people to put valentines in and oh my god i'm having flashbacks to 3rd grade when the little shitheads would write something nasty in my valentines because everybody hated me oh god this is the worst, growing up is a joke, everything is terrible.)

oh dear - that to me was one of the best things about getting out of grade school: no more mandatory valentines.

I honestly can't express how horrified I am that my life is coming full circle and I've somehow landed myself back in grade school.

Only. You know. With shitty responsibilities and even less prospects for future love and happiness because haha wow i've definitely burned every one of those bridges haven't I.

god i hate this holiday so much.

its so trite and cliche to hate it, but i really really do.

i'm going to lock myself in the apartment on friday and marathon shitty werewolf movies and teen wolf

What I'm hearing is you need a change of scenery, with new bridges to cross and burn. Hundreds of thousands of new bridges! Bridges as far as the eye can see! We have so many bridges our unofficial nickname is City of Bridges!

Seriously, why won't you people just move to Portland so we can be real life friends? Sad
