I've got things thriving in my hinterlands but I want to relocate them away from there!

OK, that just seems out of context now.

Quite. A fellow Breitbart-visitor, I see! Although I never went so far as to make an account. But I do recognise the kill the messenger-modus operandi.

feh. who needs all those fancy-dancy reasoning skills when you can just point out someone else is stoopid. and then repeat it, more loudly, as necessary.

you guys must have freed my party before i noticed it, it all seemed pretty quiet to me. still, i hope it is happy out there, wearing togas and swallowing goldfish with all the other wild parties of yore.

I finally bothered to pick a imagehoster to replace those ransoming basterds at PhotoBucket. I chose imgur.

and then I came here to link to an avatar again and vBulletin says "The URL of the remote avatar is not valid".

Edit: then, of course, I tried it without the "https" and suddenly we're in business.

imgur has managed to stay functional despite trying to be a social platform.

How long until Photobucket pulls the same crap with TinyPic?

I learned not to trust anything since Imageshack, and I was SO spoiled with that since there was a shell menu right-click upload tool for Windows. I feel giddy thinking about it. Those days shall not come again.

Hrm, let's see...
Counting off from 2013, shall we do it real quick? We shall.

2013, ending:
Got my undergrad in CS.
Spent about 6 months looking for a job.
Really enjoyed some aspects of the now got job, but really didn't mesh with others.
2014:
Moved out of the family home, into a pretty sweet apartment with a guy I knew since first year of college.
Parents moved to Uganda for work ("briefly"), leaving brother behind.
Left the company I worked for over said unmeshed aspects.
Lived off saving until the next year, worked through some pretty bad depression.
2015:
Got a new job, hated it a lot more than the first, but hey, bills to pay.
Decided to fuck up my depression by exercising, resulting in my fat, out of shape ass completing a "Hell and Back" trek (12km mountain obstacle course).
Did better as a human being.
2016:
Thought real hard about quitting job.
Aunt died of lung cancer, which she had told no one about, not even my grandmother of whom she was the primary caretaker of until 2 months before she passed. Seems she had had it for about 2 years at that point and had been doing chemo with no one knowing.
Quit job, as life is short and I needed to do something with myself that I would be happy with, and had just gotten my bonus for doing a pretty decent job on a real big project.
Enrolled myself in a games design and creation Masters degree.
2017:
Made some games.
About to finish the degree.
Didn't plan to be out of work this long, or still be doing the degree right now (they kinda sprung it on us about 1/3 of the way in the year they were revamping the course to do this, we've lost a few of our class to visa issues over it).
Money making me panic slightly, but I have some fall back plans.
Parents due back from Uganda in the next month (Hence the quotes on "briefly").
Brother now lives in Australia.

This is all interspersed with various "got too drunk", "took some drugs (recreationally)" and "went to Uganda and saw some fuckin' shit let me tell you about lions boi".

So, yeah, I kinda went and had a life for a bit. And it's 6am over here and I'm due to meet my supervisor in about 9 hours.
xd, as the youth say.

Oh yeah, and let me go right the fuck ahead and blow Dro, Yorick, Wheels, mouse, Sam's, and any other old skol lurkers minds;

I'm 29.

I got a new bicycle last weekend. The difference between this one and the 7-year-old one I had before is fuck-huge. Xbox-huge. HUEG.

hey, TVH!

sounds like life has been interesting, at the least - but it sounds like the positives are outweighting the negatives, more or less.

so yeah, tell us about the lions!

They're just big cats. They sit about all day doing nothing right up to the point that something gets their attention, then they go fuckin' mental.
Although a lion's roar is weirdly base-y. You kinda feel it in the base of your gut more than hear it.
Also, elephants fuckin' hate humans. Long memory thing is relevant enuogh that the herd in the Murchison Falls park actively grind down their tusks, and any with tusks longer than a certain length turn away from the road when they hear a car.

Water buffalo will fuck you up. They fuckin' hate the shit outta 2 legs (bad).
