Unless he's constantly taking advantage of you, I don't see you as being a sucker. Plus it can just feel really nice to help friends out.

After several months of not being able to run water, we may or may not have a working sewer now!

aaaaaaand nope

water seems to be running out, at least, so that's an improvement, but there's still a leak somewhere

So I finally worked up the courage to tell my work that I'm getting married (why is this scary? I don't know, my brain is weird like this) and now they won't stop singing the bride song. @.@ xD

- Washing dishes last night and suddenly my feet are wet.
- Pipe came loose under the sink
+ Easy fix.

I like easy fixes.

I fixed the tub and the sink without any additional parts required.

ooog, that reminds me - found a lot of water under the kitchen sink when i went to empty the trash. didn't seem to get any more when i ran water in the sink, so i think there must be a leak from the dishwasher's discharge hose - hopefully an easy fix, but i'm not looking forward to crawling around in the cabinet under the sink. why is plumbing always put someplace really hard to get at?

Because pipes are ugly?

I don't know.

We have a custom cabinet system where they clearly went with aesthetics over practicality. the pipes are normal sized, but barely fit in the area, so getting a wrench in the area was a pain. Most of the pipes were fit with hand tightening, which may have been the original issue. They also didn't have any tape on the threads, or the glue substitute which may also have been the issue.

Either way, it hasn't even dripped since then.

well, you can hide them without making them inaccessible. like yours.

mine, i can at least get a wrench in. but i have to sit on the floor and sorta bend over backwards to get to the pipes, and also grow a third arm to hold the flashlight because it is _dark_ under there. and all the pipes are black.

+ Went to Las Vegas because I'm on a break
- I hate the strip
+ So did the other three people in the group, so no one wanted to go back
- Guys on the strip seemed like a steaming pile of drunken misogyny grown arms and legs
Not that I should have expected much... but I was sitting in a bar next to a group of guys going through these cards they hand out with escorts on them, trying to pick which one they wanted, and one guy says, "My wife never asks what I do in Vegas, it's great!" UGH.
+ Day 2 we rented a car and drove to the Grand Canyon and had a great time.
+ We climbed down to the edge and took some cool photos
+ Day 3 we drove RZRs in the desert... which was fucking amazing.
+ By the end of the day I was taking jumps at 45mph and sliding around turns (desert sand is slippery, so you can just slide across it). The friend who rode with me was screaming her head off the whole time, it was so much fun.
+ I took one jump so hard the hood flew off, went up in the air 20 feet, and landed next to our friends in the other RZR. It popped back on.
+ It made so much noise, no power steering, but accelerated like a bat out of hell... I want to do that all day every day.

Next time you need to find a place where you can go sandboarding-- it's like snowboarding except a) it hurts WAY less if you fall, b) sand has more friction than snow, so you fall WAY less and c) it doesn't have to be freezing cold to do it

Also, it's freezing in here, but I really really would like a McDonald's soft serve ice cream cone. Very Happy

+Had a phone interview today for a permanent position
-+It was with my current boss, for the job I am currently filling as a temp
-HR insisted that it be conducted over the phone, so it was really awkward.
+I think it went well, to the point that I feel pretty confident that I'll be offered the job.
