I always get nervous when Tat focuses on Criminy and Fuschia.

Though, I am anxious to see some character development.

Yeah Crim gets to say more then one word.

On that note, why would Fuchsia care about toxic masculinity?

before working for the devil she worked at the hell hole as a waitress, where we are shown she was repeatedly sexually harassed by men - perpetrators of toxic masculinity - and extremely upset about it. and then when she got the job for the devil she had various duties that, while she vastly preferred to her work at the hell hole, she had become extremely disenfranchised with and are upsetting for her to remember now... and all had something to do with the concept of toxic masculinity and how it effects the view of women.

she may not have originally had the language or understanding to pin-point what exactly upset her or what her issues were at the time, but clearly she's learned a few things since the last time we saw her... off-screen, of course. but given the fact that she has direct access to a large library of forbidden knowledge and one of criminy's two beloved sentient books is a book that includes all kinds of basic feminist language and ideologies, its something she could have reasonably picked up at any point.

sooooo, better question is ... why ... WOULDN'T she care about toxic masculinity given how its effected her life negatively???

Don't "Well Duh" me. Pick a painting or song and ask three different people what it means to them and you will get four different answers. Probably none of those four answers are what the artist originally intended. That is the problem with art. It's subjective. If you like "Well Duh" answers, do math.

Fair enough. I just kind of saw her as being more neutral to the concept. She's still my favorite character though.

You know, we could go a step further and say this is sort of the way she deals with people that upset her. A part of her character development was dealing with anger, and trying to be a less violent person. If I remember right, porno man (Can we just call him Bob or something, porno man is not a name) more or less insulted Crim right in front of her. Instead of responding with violence (although if somebody disrespects your partner, you should have every right to knock them up side the head a bit), she found an outlet that both expresses how angry she felt, and gets people to think, and maybe better themselves.

Of course, I'm a person who thinks it would be a good idea to have Tess like romance novels (in a guilty pleasure sort of way, to the point she doesn't even tell Nana), and for Crim to be Kate's secret son, so, yeah please take what I say with a side of salt Neutral

I get nervous when he includes Criminy because he's the only guy left who keeps a shred of hope alive that there is, in fact, Xanthe, such things as male allies.

Crim is no leader, he's the wizard; Crim is Hermione, not Harry. Crim was steadfast during all this, but powerless to make others heed him.

While I can understand Fooch's desire, there is something Aesop (or later La Fontaine) wrote about a frog and a ox she should keep in mind.

Unless she's setting him up for his fall too of course.[/i]

Xanthe was in a particularly bad place when she said that. But we've previously seen her reaching out to Crim with a collection of feminist literature for him to read and encouraging him to challenge the assumptions of the patriarchy. So I'd say she would be the first to agree Crim would make a great male ally.

xanthe believed in male allies up until she was - in her perspective - betrayed by slick who a) claimed to be her ally specifically, to her face and b) she actually cared about. she was upset, and hurt, and had just gotten through being harassed by a group of men when she said that, after slick/sleaze (she saw slick, but we saw sleaze) just watched it happen instead of helping her ... even though he was supposed to be her ally. so um suffice to say given the chance to calm down after that ordeal and presented with male allies that actually uh are really truly allies that help when needed, i dont think she'd be inclined to stick with an opinion that developed after a traumatizing ordeal ... i mean there's li'l e, and nana's friends with francis ... and there's francis's boyfriend ... i see no reason to believe theyre not male allies

ANYWAYS TRANS GIRL CRIMINY ARC NOW

On one hand it'd feel good to have some representation and confirmation that Tat doesn't dislike trans folk. On the other we'd lose the only male ally in Sinfest (besides the self insert). So I'm conflicted.
