Also, normal people should not be allowed to teach children. Only geniuses should teach, because they would show the children how slow and incompetent they really are, quickly leading to widespread closures of public schools due to lack of attendance. Then there would be no more problem and we could all go on about our business without constantly worrying about and paying for little children, who need help opening a bottle of aspirin.

hummm.... as a maths/science teacher I would ask what is causing him to over eat?

is he being overworked? is he unhappy in other parts of his life?

perhaps the school district had a obligation to look after their employees (emotionally and physically)

surely you have to warn someone before you fire them? and if they had given him time to shape up perhaps he would have measured up?

either way what they did doesn't add up

I think the point is that as long as he is able to do his job well, and seemingly he was, that his weight shouldn't have been a factor in whether he kept his job or not. What next? They'll fire teachers they deem too ugly? Wouldn't want them scaring the children. Or maybe women who have figures that are too voluptuous should not be allowed to teach unless they have their curvy parts reduced. We wouldn't want them encouraging improper thoughts in kids when they should be learning. It should be about ability, not appearance.
