Tatsuya I'm going to eat your face

(metaphorically, as referring to criticism of your comic and writing)

Draculaura, you've got to learn not to bottle up your feelings like that, it's not good for you.

PLOT DEVELOPMENT.

isn't this supposed to be a hardhitting criticism from a feminist perspective

it seems like tat pushing over his own lego set

Plot development? In a comic? 3 panels at a time? (most of the time, anyway). I do feel your pain. At least you're young. I have a few comics I follow where I'm afraid I'm not going to get to see any plot conclusions in my lifetime. And I hope to live at least another 20 or 30 years.

yeah daily comic <> graphic novel. the likelihood of actual plot resolution ~=0.

i mean those girls in apt. 3-G, they've been stuck there _forever_. you'd think by now they'd at least have saved up enough for a condo....

I don't think I'll live long enough to finally see Agatha Heterodyne get mom out of her head.

Shaenon Garrity dares to disagree. Narbonic and its spinoff sequel Skin-Horse have the same amount of panels as Sinfest, the same daily schedule, consistent comedy and lots and lots of character and plot development, with plenty plot twists to top.

You are all welcome.

It's not that it's not possible. I have had several comics I have followed, which have actually come to their appropriate conclusion. Kory Merrit's Lost Side of Suburbia, in a non-traditional mostly 1 panel format, told stories that progressed and even ended, for the next one to start. Characters would sometimes show up again, and maybe not, but there were actual conclusions. Unfortunately, he had to actually make a living, so Lost Side is, at least for the time being, lost. The same is true of other web comics. Girl Genius, which I referred to preciously, normally updates regularly, but the Foglios have been on about a three week break (except for sketches) working on a kickstarter project. There is progress in the story, but many of the questions they have raised appear to have answers which will still be a long time coming. I love their work, no way would I stop reading it, but it's not because I expect them to wrap things up soon. It is what it is.

In the case here, Tat has obviously changed a great deal himself since he started this work. Anyone who is the same person they were 10, or 20, or however many years ago, has stagnated. OTOH, we don't grow (or regress) at the same pace. Different life experiences change people at different rates.

Or find out how Trace and Flora managed to conceive a child.... Or whether Trace ever gets his old memories back and, if so, whether he reverts to his old self or the new Trace sticks...
