Do you all think Tat’s okay? The comic used to always update before midnight EST, but it’s been later and later the last little while.

To be clear, I don’t mean to complain. I’m just confused/concerned? Maybe he just ran out of buffer and he’s falling behind the deadline? Hopefully it’s just something like that.

I noticed it too. For as long as I've been reading the comic, it always updated at around 8:00 PM the previous day. Lately, it doesn't seem to get updated until something like 2:00 AM. Right now, it's 11:49 PM where I'm at, and still no update.

At least it's nice to know it's not just me. I've been having internet and computer issues lately (had to pretty much wipe my entire PC after the April 2018 Windows 10 update screwed up). I wasn't sure if it was continuing issues, and my computer wasn't updating webpages properly (had that happen before), or if Tat had just been running late lately.

He's been making the comic every single day for literal years without a break. It wouldn't surprise me if he decided to slow his pace a bit.

A lot of webcomic artists will have comics made up in advance so that they don't miss deadlines (in case they get sick or go on a vacation, etc.), which is what I assumed was the case for Tat since the updates were always so prompt until recently. But maybe he really has been doing it just before the deadline every day?

I think It would still take a lot of work to put out a comic every day for years even if some were drawn in advance.

I suppose it's too much to hope that he's actually doing some research into his shitty SWERF attitude and hopefully bettering himself.

Maybe! The timing does coincide with the "Open letter to Tat" thread where many of us talked about that. The content of the comics doesn't seem to be reflecting that, but maybe he doesn't want to stray from his message until he feels he's done enough research to change his mind.

Maybe Tat is reflecting on why he bothered radically changing his comic from lighthearted teasing of mainstream feminism and pop culture to an exclusively feminist comic about empowered women fighting a mindlessly evil patriarchy if people are just going to call him a bigot for it? He sacrificed the will they/won't they Nique/Slick plotline that had been going for a decade so he would have a homosexual primary character and now that's just further proof of his exclusionist horseshit.

I'm pretty sure Monique is bi, since she has shown attraction to men and women.

Well, I mean, he's clearly capable of it. The comic itself is good evidence of that. It does take a lot to challenge your own beliefs, but maybe that "Open letter to Tat" thread was enough to make him consider it?

Silly, didn't you know it's impossible to be bisexual unless you're sex-crazed and actively pursuing both genders at once?

1. It wasn't "lighthearted teasing". It was full-on sexism.
2. We're only calling him out on his SWERFy stance on sex workers, not on empowered women fighting the patriarchy.
3. That plotline was horrible and I'm glad it was buried.
4. Exclusionist horseshit is exclusionary.

Oh man, have I been doing it wrong.
