I like how they act like this is a new thing. It's happened since the days of the PS1 and the N64, probably even before that.

On a side note, James Bond games are notorious for not licensing the gun images in their games, resulting in guns that are obviously based on real-life firearms but with made up names (The Klobb = VZ Skorpion, the RCP-90 = FN P90, the PP7 = Walther PPK, etc). IIRC, EA has also said it isn't licensing any guns in it's 2013 games.

Anyways, either way it's literally not even a penny per copy sold. A drop in the bucket for major arms manufacturers like HK, Walther, Colt, etc. Forcing companies to license their weapon names and images let's them vet games for content that they might not want to associate themselves with.

Did you not watch even the first 30 seconds of the video? The guy specifies Goldeneye on the N64 as one of the first games to showcase realistic looking weapons.

This is also addressed in the video.

Excellent criticism otherwise though!

This video ends up being more about potential moral hypocrisy of those who are anti gun not so much about actual cost or anti gun on its own.
