I really liked the Ring. The sequel wasn't too bad but it wasn't nearly as scary. Random note, don't bother with the Japanese versions. There were multiple movies that were put into the Hollywood version. The video doesn't make any sense in the Japanese version either since the culture is so different.

However, the Grudge was stupid. I am hoping that the sequel makes it make more sense.

I actually prefered the Japanese version of the Ring. I didn't see all of it, but it sure beat the shit out of the American version.

And the Grudge was hilarious. Honestly, I've nearly never laughed that hard with a film.

when i was 10 or so i caught my first episode of X-Files. it was Darkness Falls, which happens to take place in western Oregon and involved strange glowy bugs which couldn't go in the light, but in the dark they swarmed and wrapped people up in silky stuff like spiders do, so of course Mulder and Scully get themselves stuck up in the middle of nowhere with no gas and a failing generator while the people they were with got picked off one by one. i don't recall any nightmares, but it made me a bit squirmy to watch and think about it, especially since it was so near where i lived.

Oh my god I've got that beat, I remember watching that exact episode with my brother when I was about eight or nine and just as they were cowering around the dying light the fucking lights in my house went out.

Best powercut ever.

I thought The Ring was boring.

Ofcourse I was stoned and tired at the time I watched it. But that should make no difference.
