I bribed my kids with a theater movie today. Clean rooms and then I got to see Happy Feet. Oh, and we snuck into Flushed Away because it was starting just as Happy Feet was ending. I've never done that before. The kids had a great afternoon. _________________ A person's character is their destiny. |

Well, if they are going to commit crime, then I'd rather that they do it under parental supervision where I can make sure they're breaking the law safely. _________________ A person's character is their destiny. |

That's actually funny in the US? What a country... the library in my town (in the Netherlands) might not have children's books in Polish, but I'm not that sure actually. They do have them in Chinese, Arabic, Turkish (and English, French, German and Spanish obviously). So do you have books in any language other than English?
Anyway, the rest are pretty funny. Especially the history books on WW III one... classic. |

I don't think she necessarily included that because it's funny. an unusual request and hard to come by, more likely. stuff that drives librarians crazy.
maybe it's funny because polish jokes are so prevelant? ...

It was strange funny not ha-ha funny. There really isn't a large polish community here, so, no, we don't carry books in polish. We do have a fairly decent collection in spanish for both children and adults. But it's simple enough to interlibrary loan a book as long as it is listed in WorldCat. Which has over 5 million entries, so, it's likely it will have it if a library owns it out there somewhere. _________________ A person's character is their destiny. |
