Re: On that Atlantic piece slandering Ovarit and Radical Feminists in general

Thanks for posting this. It was a very interesting read - both the Atlantic article and the rebuttal. In regards to the Atlantic article - it is amazing just how far journalistic integrity has fallen - the points made in the rebuttal were spot on. The article was just a bunch of opinion without appr...

Re: December 13, 2020 - Reckoning 50

Wow. That was refreshing. Thank you. Just wanted to say that before the backlash that I assume will occur since you mentioned the "C" word and also spoke of Trump in a non-negative way. I feel like I am being played on so many sides. The polarization that you speak of is very true. In many ways our ...

Okay, start the Twilight Zone music... It seems Tat has some mysteriously accurate future knowledge. Not sure if he is the time traveler or if his future self came back to visit - or maybe some other time traveling person came back and had a chat with Tat - or maybe just access to a crystal ball, or...

Re: USA 2020 elections

There really is no way to know when this will be over. The margins are very tight in one state less than 1000 votes difference. The possibility of voter fraud on both sides is high. This isn't the first election that has been contested. In 2000, the election deciding between George Bush and Al Gore ...

Re: October 11, 2020: Audit 48

In regards to cult behavior it is important to remember that the knife cuts both ways. It is easy to call something a 'cult' when we see a group of people behaving in a way we disapprove. It is harder to remember that any group of people that share the same core values may exhibit cultish behaviors....

Re: October 11, 2020: Audit 48

Scary only in retrospect. And that's the thing that I understand the most about these things. While you are in the thrall of it all, it is not scary in fact you feel excited and it seems everything is so crystal clear and the answer is so very obvious. When I see people in videos and on the news doi...

No, the fundies, and other flavors, did not use coercion, they offered peace, love, community and freedom of worship our way; which was what all us flower children were looking for from the 60's. The concept was great, but just like in the 60's communes, ego and greed always erupted, usually in the...

Re: Hello

I was never on the old forum having joined after the creation of this new forum. From what I have gleamed, the old forum was busy and a hot bed of aggressive posting. This forum was created to give those who had no voice in the old forum a safe place to talk. This forum is moderated by Tat and also ...

Re: Coronavirus

"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself..." The early morning scene at a grocery store where I went yesterday just pick up a few things was a strong indication of the panic setting in. More cars in the lot than ever before. People with shopping carts filled. The tension was palpable with ever...

Re: Ads

I am glad this subject came up. First of all, I had to turn off all 3 of my 'adblocks' in order to actually see the ads that Tat is using. On my browser they are at the bottom and very discreet. Of course I did not click on them. I hate ads. They are an issue I strictly avoid - so much so that if I ...

Re: September 27, 2019: Gender Non-conforming G.I. Joe

I definitely think this cartoon is specifically aimed at the new gender neutral Barbie. If you have seen any of the ads for this new Barbie - it has a changeable wig that will let the Barbie have long or short hair and also a variety of clothes - just do an image search and you will see. None of the...

Re: Relationship with modern media?

The question is whether everything that depicts the horror of human history should be sanitized to avoid gratifying/glorifying/titillating viewers. I don't think we have to avoid telling about the horrors. I think we just need to have a frank way of presenting them. There is quite a difference betw...

Re: Relationship with modern media?

This being an anti-porn environment, do you also apply this vilification to popular TV shows such as Game of Thrones, Westworld, True Blood, Rome, Orange is the New Black, The Tudors, Spartacus, etc etc etc etc.? It seems that practically every new show these days is filled with often graphic sex a...
