Call me Celina. I've been a fan since 2007, and tried to enjoy the old forum since then too. Now that we have a forum for radfems/people who actually enjoy the comic! Hell yes! I'll call up all my buddies here!! Armageddon is coming.

Yeah, I did find this comic pretty funny, but prostitution or sex trafficking is miles different from pornography or strip dancing. Although at times they may feed into each other, there are still plenty of woman who enjoy sex and/or working in the industry out of their own merit. I feel in his persecution of the entire sex entertainment industry, he’s sorta missing the mark in terms of where the problem actually is. The focus should be placed more on making the sex industry safer for for all sexes (as men in this field are also in the very real danger of contracting std’s) rather than eliminating it all together. Other than that I enjoyed this strip and got a nice chuckle out.

You make a lot of good points but, I think the comic is poking fun at the idea that if a woman is in the sex industry, then she HAVE to be a sex crazy nympho and this is the perfect job for her. So, she should be total stoke to give out blow jobs to strangers for money because she likes it.

Customers want to believe that the sex worker is just as excited as they are, they want to believe that this women/girl enjoys sex because if she doesn't that put into question how much of a lover the customer is. The customer most likely feel guilty if they purchase sex from someone that's not really into it or made it clear they this is just a job. You are right though, there are women in the industry that do love their jobs and enjoy the sex they get but not all. The truth is that's not always the case, some sex workers do it solely for the money, they don't get any pleasure out of it, other's are forced into it against their will. The customer doesn't see what is going on behind the scenes. They only know what is presented in front of them.

In the case of dancing, I can tell you first hand that sometimes the lines are blurred. Most customers think if she's willing to take her clothes off for money, how much more money will it take for her to sleep with me. Some dancers will do it, for the money or for the hook up, we call that "doing extras" or "extra work" but not all. Most dancer just wanted to dance and not go any further. The same goes for porn stars, if she have sex on the camera then she must be a slut that will do anyone, the truth in most cases is, they are not loose and it's just a job like flipping burgers or being a clerk somewhere.

I also agrees that the customers are at risk STDs or conceiving a child but, that's comes with the territory. If someone is willingly to put their health on the line for pleasure, well that's them. The customer's health should be their responsibility and should have the common sense to know if they are frequenting prostitutes, they should practice safe sex. I know in regulated agencies/brothels, workers have to be to be STD free but,not street prostitutes as they usually don't have health insurance. We also have seen even in the porn industry that inspections are lacks at times.
She works hard for the money.

I read it as "Men are not legalising prostitution so they can go and be prostitutes, they are legalising prostitution so they can go and screw prostitutes legally"
