Wow, this webcomic has change a lot.

Post by The_Man » Fri Aug 02, 2019 1:01 pm

Hello, I'm The_Man, this is my very first post on sinfest forum. I lurk around and notice what kind of environment this forum is in, and I doubt what I posted here will be very well like by the inhabitant. So if I offended any of the inhabitant, I honestly don't care. I'm basically an invader anyway saying whatever I want.

I been a long time reader of sinfest. Big fan of it. I read it since around 2002 or 2003. Somewhere during my middle school days. I even kept reading this comic even during my time in the Army. Then I kept continue reading it on and off even after I left the Army and attended college. But then I read some rumor that Tat, our dear ole author is going down some dark road a few years back. They saying he was doing something really bad, but I didn't paid no mind until I started reading it again just today. Then lo and behold, what they said was true. Tat just went full on man hating feminazi. But maybe I'm just jumping to conclusion. Maybe there a bigger picture beyond the realm of the Sisterhood's agenda. I know they mean well, but their action say otherwise to the point of gender discrimination.

Now I didn't care about the whole feminism thing much, I thought it just a nice little addition to Sinfest as it sort of a political religious incorrect satire sort of thing. But come on. Johnbie? Dude, everyone watches porn. Even women watches porn. It feel like Tat is putting women up on the pedestal like they are purely innocent maiden and only men corrupt them. I even read a youtube commenter from 3 years ago saying "Well, Tat didn't go around saying kill all white cis male." Then when I started reading the webcomic, we got a bunch of zombie guys who trying to save the pimp and they all died in an effort to save the dude. So that youtube comment didn't age well at all.

The cast became worse throughout the series.
Squig become a guilt-ridden pig and he became ashamed of himself as he no longer becoming the weed up friend with weed up wisdom because of the porn collection he have. So that suck.

Nique no longer a sexy badass chick anymore who can bomf dude with her booty. It seem like she think being sexy is bad thing. The only thing she manage to keep around is her anarchist schtick, which I guess is still a good thing.

Slick, our little pervie MC is still being perverted. Or at least he try to be and still try to schmooze the lady. But I don't see that anymore. He also lost one of his best friend which is Nique, and possibly Squig one day because Squig became "woke". Maybe I'm wrong, but I know for damn sure Nique and Slick ain't hanging out anymore.

The Devil is still the Devil, I always like him. He is still an asshole, even with a little bit of sad back story.
Hopefully, the Devil and God, and Buddha, and the Reaper is the only people who still try to stick to what they are. But this is Tat's story, so that may change.

It seem the whole thing went down hill the moment Nique saw the matrix sign and started becoming butch and gave up sexiness just so she can fight the patriarchy back in 2011 just because The Sister Hood went all red pill and blue pill on her ass and she stop hanging around with Slick. I also believe there was a point somewhere in the webcomic where Tat's avatar telling his fan boy saying he was wrong to be politically incorrect. So I believe it was going on for 8 years since the web comic been going full blown radical feminism to the point where it said "Fuck men. Also those trans women too cuz they're men."

But like I said before, maybe there a bigger goal in mind. Where the perverted zombie guys and the sisterhood make peace with each other and it all sun shine and rainbow. Or maybe Slick will find a way to gap the bridge. Or maybe not considering that Tat did say he is disappointed in men. Honestly, I prefer ole Lucifer win out in the end.

GTFO, troll.
Call me Celina. I've been a fan since 2007, and tried to enjoy the old forum since then too. Now that we have a forum for radfems/people who actually enjoy the comic! Hell yes! I'll call up all my buddies here!! Armageddon is coming.

It's reassuring when and satisfying when trolls show up. Means you've kicked the hive and shaken up the drones.

Howdy, The_Man.
Quite a late reply (and sorry for reviving the 'troll'), but I felt like adding something.

So, the first part kinda applies to me as well. I didn't add my thoughts on the forum that much and yea, also was lurking in the background and noticing the changes.

Now, it feels like you've only understood the surface of the story. If you want to enjoy this comic more, you'd have to dig a bit deeper. If you don't get my meaning, that's that; I tried.

Anyway, it has always been a matter of target audience. Some people like and understand what an author is trying to convey, while some don't or choose not to. Society and people around us are always a strong factor which greatly affects our growth.

It is a lot easier to enjoy something that is just trying to be funny than to enjoy something that is trying to show a message.

While I support and approve of the message, and think that it is an important one that doesn't get much space, I do dislike some of the directions that characters have gone. And I don't consistently enjoy sinfest as I did 10+ years ago. However, I no longer enjoy many of the strips in the old sinfest books I own; I changed. Sinfest did not turn out to be as timeless as Calvin and Hobbes.

Initially I hoped for a Slick redemption arc. I no longer care much about Slick, which I think is Tat's view as well. I didn't initially care about Lil'E (and thought he was just a bit humorous character), but I do now. I think Tat does, but Lil'E has been very passive recently, even more so than he was initially after the amnesia. I am eager to learn more about Lilith and Kate and Lil'E but am anxious about what direction Lil'E is going.
